Congratulations Masoud Moradi!
Masoud Moradi will join Texas State this fall
semester. He received the 2018 Helen Devitt Jones
Excellence in Graduate Teaching Award at Texas Tech
University.
This is a great achievement for Masoud!

McCoy College Center for Professional Sales
Sales Students travel to AT&T headquarters in Dallas, TX.
(San Marcos, TX.) On March 1st and 2nd, twenty professional selling students were the invited
guests of Will Brown, lead recruiter for AT&T, to corporate headquarters in Dallas, Texas. AT&T is one
of the corporate partners of the McCoy College Center for Professional Sales.
The event was organized as a competition for Texas State students to test their selling skills against
each other. The case involved selling AT&T cyber security services to a fictitious small
manufacturing company with 88 employees. There were five teams of students, who are as
follows: Team #1: Justin Deatherage, Lanie Smith, Weston
Jenkins, Jared Hopson
Team #2: Jace Habiger, Ofelia Lira, Caitlin Wyckoff
Team #3: Dianna Ventura, Berenice Portillo, Ian
Neithercut, Federico Mota
Team #4: Taylor Finney, Erin Hoppe, Miles Thomas,
Jayton Burba
Team #5: Antoine Lolliot, Rachel McPartland, Cooper
Scott, Amber Hall
The top three teams were Team #3, Team #4 and
Team #5, with Team #5 winning first place overall.
Individual performance awards went to: Justin
Deatherage, Ofelia Lira, Ian Neithercut, Jayton Burba,
and Rachel McPartland.
The students had the opportunity to tour the AT&T
headquarters and meet many AT&T executives,
including Anne Chow, the keynote speaker for the
welcome dinner on the evening of March 1st. Ms.
Chow is the President of National Business for AT&T.
Vicki West, the Director of the Center for Professional
Sales, gave a short presentation on the growth of
sales centers around the world and on the Center for
Professional Sales at Texas State.
The students were accompanied by Mr. Wayne Noll, the Assistant Director of the Center for
Professional Sales who coached the students, and Vicki West, Director of the Center. Four
graduate students, Madison Ivers, Christina Sfamenos, Katie O’Brien, and Jeremy Cox, also
attended and assisted Mr. Noll with coaching the sales students.

Conduct consumer research, including focus groups, online surveys, and cutting-edge research techniques such as user experience testing for websites.

HOW THE CLASS WORKS
You’ll work with a handful of the brightest
Texas State students from the College of
Business Administration and other colleges. We
work around a conference table where ideas
are easily exchanged. You’ll get to know the
professor and fellow classmates on a

more personal and professional level. We work
as a team to develop our advertising campaign
for the case sponsor.
FALL 2018 SEMESTER
We conduct primary and secondary research to
discover consumer insights about the brand.
We identify relevant consumer target markets,
define the brand’s positioning statement, and
author the creative brief, which is the
document used in the Spring to develop the ad
campaign.
SPRING 2019 SEMESTER
We turn the creative brief into an actionable
campaign and present it to the client and
advertising professionals.
The client and advertising case used in the class
is sponsored by the American Advertising
Federation’s (AAF) National Student Advertising
Competition (NSAC).

Speaker Meeting – April 18th
Join AMA in their last speaker meeting of the year! We will be hosting Tracie
Hames from LaMorne Enterprises as she discusses excuse proof marketing.
This meeting will start promptly at 5:30, please join us in LBJ 3-14.1 at 5 for
food and networking.
Workshop – April 23rd
AMA will be hosting their last workshop of the year. We will have guest
speaker, Joshua Miley CTP, a Senior Vice President at Bank of America for
Treasury Management Sales. Also a Texas State AMA Alumni! This will take
place at 5PM in LBJ 3-6.1, see you there!
