• All students enrol on the Marketing Communications degree and then decide which

route they wish to take towards the end of the first year.

• This provides more flexibility, especially for those who might be unsure at this

stage about the career they wish to pursue (...more about this later).

• This structure also responds to the hybridisation occurring within the industry at

the moment.

• It ensures that each student, no matter their eventual specialisation, has a solid

grounding in marketing communications fundamentals that apply across the

professions.

10,000 word piece of original research on a marketing communications issue (or

a consultancy for a company).

• A mixture of coursework and exams

• Coursework covers a very wide range of tasks: essays, marcoms plans, campaigh material, group and

solo presentations, vlogs and blogs

• Exams are held in January and May, usually lasting 2 to 3 hours

• The passmark on the undergraduate programmes is 40%

• Our degrees hold Graduate Gateway status by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). This means

that our students have automatic exemptions on a series of professional qualifications with the

institute.

• In addition, all students can study and sit for the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Foundation

Certificate in Marketing in their first year.
