Department of Civil Engineering Technical Quiz Competition 11 th April 2018 The Department of Civil Engineering of Sree Vidyanikethan Engineering College has organized a “Technical Quiz Competition” under ASCE Sree Vidyanikethan Engineering College Student Chapter Activities on 11 th April 2018. The objective of the program is to create enthusiasm to learn subject and technical knowledge; to develop an attitude to win and boost confidence among participants. A total 40 students of 8 teams from II, III and IV B.Tech. Civil Engineering II Semester were participated in the event. The whole event was conducted with great zeal and enthusiasm. The competition was conducted at Civil Engineering Seminar Hall from 2.30 pm to 4:30 pm. Dr. O. Eswara Reddy, Faculty Advisor-ASCE SVEC Student Chapter, Professor and BOS Chairman, Department of Civil Engineering, SVEC; Dr. M. V. Subba Reddy, Assistant Professor and Head, Dept. of Civil Engineering, SVEC; Mr. D. V. Purushotham, Assistant Professor and Coordinator-ASCE SVEC were together judged the teams on different criteria such as technical knowledge, skills and content. Office barriers of ASCE SVEC Student Chapter were the organizers of this program. On the whole, the event was proved successful. The prize winners were decided and the first prize to Ms. B. Sailaja, Ms. D. Hemavathi, Ms. Y. Akhila form III B.Tech. CE and Mr. A. Saleem Mahammad, Mr. K. Deep Sankar from II B.Tech. CE were awarded and participation certificates were distributed to all the participants. The students were enriched with technical knowledge. Technical Quiz competition enables student to prepare the subject in depth and motivates to win. Technical Quiz competitions even help to build the student’s soft skills. Further, it is believed that this event has ignited the young minds to learn and participate and to participate and learn.
