VIDEO MAKING COMPETITION GRAFISTA
REPORT:
REPORT ON GRAFISTA – A SHORT VIDEO MAKING COMPETITION ORGANISED
BY INFORMATICA, THE IT SOCIETY
INFORMATICA – the IT society of the college in association with the DEPARTMENT OF
COMPUTER SCIENCE organized an inter college event , GRAFISTA – A short video making
competition, as a part of Pallavi 2021.
The registrations for the same were opened on 23rd March, 2021 and were closed by 5th April,2021.
The participants were supposed to submit a video on the topic , SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
IN INDEPENDENT INDIA with their voiceover. In order to mark the completion of 75 glorious
years of Independence, the IT society decided to come up with this topic.
Following were the rules of the competition:
It is an individual competition.
Video should be relevant to the topic and not exceed 2 minutes.
Participants have to do a voice over along with their video.
Video should be made in either Hindi or English.
Any kind of plagiarism will lead to disqualification.
The decision of the judges will be final and binding.
The event witnessed 7 participants from different colleges with amazing information being
portrayed by each video. Since the participants were less than 10, according to the rules of Pallavi,
only 2 winners were declared. The results were declared the next day i.e. on 9th April in the main
Pallavi event held on google meet.
Dr K.P. Jayant, Professor & Head Computer Science & Engineering,IIMT University, Ganga
Nagar, Meerut was the external judge for the event while Dr Avaneesh Anand, Teacher-in-charge
, Department of Computer Science, Vivekanand College , DU was the internal judge.
Dr. DD Kashyap , Dr. Shivantika Sharad, Dr. Salma Seth, Dr. Vedanidhi and Dr. Vivek Kumar
Gupta, the faculty from different departments of the college were the honourable guets for the
event.

Report on the Speech competition on “Transforming Institutions: Right Approach to
Reshape India” organized by Department of Economics, Vivekananda College on the
occasion of Pallavi’21 on 08th April, 2021
Department of Economics had organized an Inter college Speech Competition on “Transforming
Institutions: Right Approach to Reshape India” on the occasion of Pallavi’21. The event was
held on 8th April, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. via virtual mode through Google meet. The link of the event

17 Students from different colleges registered out of which 6 students participated. Dr. Subash
Chandra (Department of Environment studies) and Mrs. Vishakha Goyal (Department of
Economics) were present as internal Judges. The Competition was organized by Mr. Lalit, Mr.
Amit Kumar, Ms. Vandana Rathore, and Ms. Vishakha Goyal who were present along with Ms.
M. Agarwal. It was coordinated by Shivangi Jain, a student of B.A. (P) IInd year.
Ms. Mahi Tyagi, student of B.A. (P) Ist year, Vivekananda College, won the competition where
she was awarded a prize money of Rs. 2000 and Certificates were given to the participants.

POETRY SLAM COMPETITION
REPORT:
Celebrating 75 Years of Independence
National Poetry Slam Competition
In celebration of National Annual Fest, Pallavi, 2021, a virtual Poetry Slam Competition was
organised by the Department of English, Vivekananda College on 9th April, 2021. The theme of the
competition was “Celebrating 75 years of Independence”. The aim was to encourage inter-college
communication, expression and creativity amidst the devastating effects of pandemic.
From the total selected 11 participants, the competition was attended by 10 participants and many
interested audience through the online medium of Google meet with the link
https://meet.google.com/bgy-ieok-afp . The introductory note and rules of competition were stated by
Pourushi Pundil and Zeenat, Students of B.A. (H.) English III year. It was judged by Ms. Sophia Pde
(Teacher in Charge, Department of English, Vivekananda College, Delhi) and Mr. Deeptangshu Das
(Assistant Professor, Department of English, Dibrugarh University, Assam).
Before the commencement of recitation, both the judges instilled confidence in the participants with
their encouraging messages. In response to the theme, the participants raised multivalent issues, ranging
from dominant symbols of nationalism, glorification of homeland and charted the trajectory from
colonialism to neo-colonialism, freedom struggle to resistance in contemporary times, with their creative
expressions. Their poems were passionately mediating, interrogating and emphasizing the needs of
expression, freedom, question and dialogue. The participants had also shared their journeys of
composition and positive feedback to organisation.
The participants were evaluated on the basis of their authenticity, expression, energy, content and
overall impact. The winners securing the 1st position (by Sarbanga Mishra from Christ University, for his
poem, “This is not a poem”), 2nd position (by Mrinalini Singh from Vivekananda College for her poem,
“75 years of Independence”) and 3rd position (by Vilakshan Sharma from Dayal Singh College for his
poem, “In a Flash”) were awarded with prize money and e-certificates.
The program was concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Chaandreyi Mukherjee,
Assistant Professor of Department of English.

Summary Of Event: Department of environmental studies organized a power point competition
on dated 08/04/2021 at 3:00 pm. Total 11 participants participated and their work was evaluated
by Dr. Seema Sharma and Dr. Saif Rehman Farooqi. The first prize was given to Miss Riya, BA
Prog and second prize was given to Miss. Shivangi, Math. Approximately 20 members joined
this programmer including some faculty members, and students.

POEM RECITATITION, FRENCH SINGING, POSTER MAKING
COMPETITION
REPORT:
The Department of French, Vivekananda College organised a cultural event as part of
“Pallavi Fest 2021”. Various competitions related to French culture were held to familiarise
students of the Department and College with the rich heritage of the language that they are
learning and also the culture and civilisation of France. Entries under these three
competitions were received from 7 students in French singing competition, 12 students in
French poem recitation competition and 20 students partook in Poster making competition on
the topic-“Culture and civilisation of France”. The competitions were judged by an external
judge, Sukham Panesar, Assistant Professor(French) of Jesus and Mary College, University
of Delhi. The 3 best entries in all three competitions were awarded and their entries in form
of audio and video recordings were shown on the day of the event. The event included other
activities also such as a traditional welcome dance on French music. It was a unique sight as
it was a blend of the 2 cultures: Indian traditional dance, i.e., Bharatanatyam and French
music. This was followed by depiction of winning entries. Also, a humorous video on “Life
during lockdown” (in French language) prepared by Muskan Bhatia, BA(P) Sem. IV was
shown to the audience. The event was attended by a total of 59 participants including
teachers and students.

Report
Department of Food Technology, Vivekananda College organized a virtual nutrition quiz under
the aegis of College Annual Festival “PALLAVI 2021” on 9th April 2021 at 1pm.
Nutrition Brainiacs- A Virtual Nutrition Quiz (Nutrition and Health- India’s 75 year old
Journey)

A total of 72 students registered in inter-college virtual quiz competition. Students from
Hansraj College (1), Aditi Mahavidyalaya (2), Vivekananda College (51), Shyama Prasad
Mukherjee College (3), Jamia Millia Islamia (1) and Lakshmi Bai College (14) registered for
this virtual event by the 5th April 2021 (12 Noon). The registration link for the event was:

event virtually on 9th April 2021 at 1 pm sharp. The link for the event was:
https://meet.google.com/xuc-hnja-kdv. A total of 61 people attended the event. Of these 5 were
teachers of the college namely Mrs. Purnima Vir, Mrs. Seema Taneja, Dr. Sukhneet Suri, Dr.
Kamini Taneja and Dr. Arushi Jain. A total of 13 students attended the event from various
colleges but were not registered for the event. Only 41 registered participants attended the
event. The registered participants were explained the rules and regulations for filling the quiz
Performa in the form of a google form. The quiz had 15 multiple choice questions. At 1:15 pm
sharp the performa was shared over email of the registered candidates. It was also posted in the
chat box. The link for the virtual quiz is as follows:

Participants were given 10 minutes to complete the quiz. All the participants were asked to
switch on their cameras at the time of filling the form. At 1:25 pm sharp no further responses
were entertained. The result was evaluated and a tie was found among 5 students. So they were
administered a tie-braker of 5 multiple choice questions for 5 minutes. The link for the quiz
was shared over the email of the shortlisted participants. It was even shared over the chat box.

shortlisted participants were obtained. The final results were evaluated.
Ms. Ritika of Vivekananda College got the first prize and Ms. Mani Agarwal from
Vivekananda College got the second prize. Ms. Aarchi Arora got the third prize. The results
were announced by the senior faculty members who attended the event. Direct Cash Transfer
of Rs. 2000/-, Rs. 1500/- and Rs. 1000/- were announced respectively for the first, second and
third position holders. E-certificates will be given to all the participants and prize certificates
will be given to the position holders. The event was thus successfully completed and was
declared closed at 1:45pm.

Pallavi 2021 Report
The Department of Mathematics organized a Quiz on Vedic Maths as part of our college
fest “PALLAVI 2021” .
The Vedic Maths Quiz was started at 12 noon on google meet with link
https://meet.google.com/tnx-dbxr-yry. The responses were collected through Google forms.

PATRIOTIC SONG COMPETIION
REPORT: Patriotic Song Competition, Pallavi-2021, Music Department Music Department , Vivekananda college, Delhi University organized a virtual inter-college patriotic song competition on 9th April 2021 from 1 pm to 3 pm as a part of the Pallavi Fest which is held annually. 28 students participated from various colleges affiliated to Delhi University. Dr. Neeta Mathur, Associate Professor, Vivekananda College and Dr. Prerna Arora , Associate Professor, Janaki Devi Memorial College were the esteemed judges for the competition.

REPORT:
Title Of Event: Essay writing competition on Independence @ 75
Dates: 11 a.m., 09/04/2021
In celebration of National Annual Fest, Pallavi, 2021, a virtual Essay Writing Competition was
organised by the Department of Political Science, Vivekananda College on 9th April, 2021. The theme
of the competition was “India @ 75”. The Department invited two esteem judges. The external
judge was Dr. Shalini Prasad, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, TKRM ,
Dr. Ambedkar University, Aligarh and the internal judge was Dr. Kamini Taneja, Sanskrit
Department, Vivekananda College. A huge number of students participated in the
competition. The First position was taken by Dipti Kumari, Second was grabbed by Priyanka
and the third position holder was Neha Gupta. The programme ended with the vote of thanks
delivered by Dr. Anjana Kumari, TIC, Political Science department, Vivekananda college.
