Local well-being Sunday 22
nd and Saturday 28th
EMERGE's local food works project and Manchester Creative Collective's Food Hub are partnering up to host two pilot events in late
August one in the North East of the City and one in the South.
We are hoping to bring together small scale local producers, mostly from local allotment sites, to exchange produce using a LETS (local exchange trading scheme) system. LETS are local community-based networks in which people exchange goods and services with minimal use of money. There are various models out there for this, but it will be a basic barter scheme intended for local growers to exchange produce. We aren't expecting money to exchange hands. We are hoping the events will also have space for workshops and promotion of local
growing projects.
Are you a … Grower, Producer, Gardener, Allotment Goer, Herbalist, Preserver, Cake Baker, Craft Maker, Practitioner, Promoter, Artist, Ethical trader?

Little Green Roofs is an exciting new project from Red Rose Forest which is all about creating fantastic hotspots for greenery and biodiversity, as well as helping to reduce the impact of climate change.
Be one of the first to have a Little Green Roof installed and make your roof the envy of your neighbourhood! The Little Green Roofs project aims to transform the roofs of small, uninhabited communal buildings and structures - such as sheds, bike shelters, and storage containers – into havens for wildlife to help reduce the chance and severity of flooding, provide insulation to buildings and can play a big contribution to greening the urban environment..
Red Rose Forest is looking to work with local residents, community groups and schools to help deliver Little Green Roof projects across Manchester. This project is being part funded by Manchester City Council’s Carbon Innovation Fund. For more information on this project, contact Kevin Wigley at Red Rose Forest on 0161 872 1660 [email protected]
