We are conveniently located on Highland Avenue in Davis Square,

Somerville. Our office is a block away from the Red Line's Davis

Square T Station. There is metered street parking available in

addition to multiple parking lots in the immediate vicinity. Ours

is a multi-cultural practice with many members of our staff

speaking Portuguese and Spanish, and among our dentists and

hygienists, we also have fluent speakers of Chinese, German,

Italian, Farsi, and Albanian.

OUR SERVICES

FILLINGS

Tooth-colored fillings are made of a

composite resin material. After

removing a cavity or an old silver

amalgam filling, your dentist can restore

the tooth with composite resin that will

match the natural color and recreate the

original shape. Manufacturers have

removed BPA (bisphenol-A) from

composite materials in recent years, and

all of our composite resins at Dental

Arts are BPA-free.

LUMINEERS

Porcelain/ceramic veneers are a cosmetic fix for chipped, stained or misaligned teeth. A dental veneer is a ceramic laminate, often as thin as a contact lens, applied to the front of the teeth. Generally, a small amount of enamel is removed from the front of your tooth to make room for the application of the veneer. Veneers can correct the size, shape, length, color and spacing of your natural teeth. Patients often inquire about “Lumineers”.

FILLINGS

A dental snore appliance works by

gently sliding your jaw forward while

you sleep. This can open the airway in

the back of your mouth and throat,

allowing more air to enter. This can

often eliminate snoring. To create your

custom appliance, impressions of your

upper and lower teeth are taken, along

with some specific measurements of

your mouth which are then sent to our

lab. The completed snore guard is

usually back to our office in about 10

days.

ROOT CANAL TREATMENT

A root canal is a treatment to repair and

save a badly damaged or infected tooth

rather than having to removing it. The

term “root canal” refers to the cleaning

of the canals inside a tooth’s root.

Decades ago, root canal treatments were

slow and often painful. With dental

advances and modern anesthetics, most

people have little, if any discomfort. In

fact, it is usually much more painful

living with a decayed tooth. Alternatives

to a root canal include extracting the

damaged tooth and replacing it with a

dental implant, bridge, or removable,

partial denture.

SEALANTS

Sealants are resin-based materials used to fill in the deep natural

grooves on the chewing surfaces of molars. These grooves can

catch tiny food particles and bacteria, and cavities can easily

develop in these areas. By placing sealants in these grooves shortly

after the six-year molars grow in, and again when the twelve-year

molars as erupt, your dentist can prevent the formation of cavities

in these surfaces of the teeth.
