density of water vs cooling

Temperature vs. water
BY:JTS
The question
• What is the effect of the amount of water in a boiling pot of water to the cooling speed of the water
The research
• When water is boiling it usually evaporates and remains the same temperature
• Boiling water is when the water pressure is hot enough to even out to the vapor pressure
• Boiling point can be altered by the water pressure• Also the amount of oxygen in a room can change the
temperature as well • Everything slows down when acted upon by a force,
here there is no force but the air could have an affect to he temperature because most stuff can cool down I one hour and forty minutes
variables
• Water temperature– Always start at 213 degrees F.
• Use 10 cups of water• Use one small pot and one big pot• Check every 25 minutes• Do it twice• Use the same candy thermometer• Keep everything even
hypothesis
• I believe that the pot with more density, (the smaller pot) will cool faster because the bigger stuff is the warmer it gets

Proved hypothesis?
• Yes the pot did cool slower because it was more dense and more full
conclusion
• The relationship of the density of the water to the speed of the natural cooling is clearly that the more enclosed bunched up atoms can save heat when they are not so spread out.
Diving deeper
• This project was really in my opinion about diving deeper into graphs and learning how math and graphing stuff could apply to everyday life.
• I think that this project deepens our understanding in how to speak in “matheniese” as we call it and I believe as long as we stuck with it and did our part
