An obstacle is that which you see when you take your

eyes off the vision.

Liu Chi Kung (second to Van Cliburn in the 1958

Tchaikovsky Competition) was imprisoned for 7 years

1959-1966 during the cultural revolution in China.

On a daily basis he practiced envisioning

techniques.

“I practiced every day. I rehearsed every

piece I had ever played, note by note,

in my head.”

When released his concerts were even

better than before imprisonment.
