Life in Black and
White
By: Harrison Maginn
Preface The idea of this book is to compare the art of Denis Olivier and Me, Harrison Maginn. Both of the artist photos are mainly black and white and have to do with objects that you would see in normal life.
Denis Olivier was born in Royan, France in 1969. Denis was first introduced into photography when his parents performed a strange static like dance with objects in front of their face. At a later period in time his parents brought him down to their dark room where he thought they performed “magic for years.” Although they showed him this he started out in drawing. He didn’t begin to photograph until he was 17. He became fascinated with mineralogical micro mount. He entered into biochemistry but changed to Poitiers, a fine arts school, and stated computer graphics. He met a
friend who influenced him into taking photos for practice. After two years he had his first exhibition. He then did some jobs like commissioning art. He then did artistic direction where he experimented with many different types of photography. He now is working with other photographers and exchanges information with them because of the digital SLR which has given him the pleasure of working with different lenses and many types of power features. He continues to produce many materials and he is involved and is maintaining collaborative projects such as the famed company of arts limited.
Harrison Maginn was born on May 20, 1999 in Indianapolis. He has focused on his career of photography ever since his start with his photography class. Harrison was really inspired by Denis Olivier photos and decided to work on a collaboration with him.
