Use this guide to help get comfortable telling the Avaya value story with your demonstrations. As with any effective demo, the more comfortable you are with your demo, the better you will present it, and the more likely you will be to close your deal with it. General Demo Information Refer to individual Avaya product guides and documentation to learn how specific features and functionality of each Avaya product works. In this guide we set up a situation to tell a story that may be appropriate for your customer, but feel free to adapt the storyline as appropriate to show other features that may be more important to your sales situation. Avaya collaboration applications can help you go the extra mile without extra effort on your part. In this demonstration, Samy is an Account Executive polishing up the final presentation proposal her team plans to deliver in the morning. His boss, Jason, is doing a little customer research online at home and has promised to be available in case she needs any last minute help getting a question answered. When Samy does runs into a design question, she easily IMs Jason from her Avaya One-X Communicator application. Jason receives the IM on his iPad running Avaya Flare Experience. The only problem is, Jason isn’t sure of the answer either. What to do?

Jason finds their SE is online and available by checking in the corporate directory on his iPad. He simply starts and IM session with Kevin to get the question answered and relays that info back to Samy to finish up the presentation.

Samy has thought of another issue about the meeting in the morning and wants to speak about it with Jason. This is easily accomplished and Jason presses the call button on his iPad to escalate the IM session with Samy into a voice (or video) call.

They talk through the presentation for the meeting in the morning and all get a good night’s sleep knowing they are prepared and ready with the best customer proposal they can deliver.

Demo Steps

1. This  demo  starts  with  Samy  logged  into  Avaya  One-­‐X  Communicator  in  “This  Computer”  mode  so  a  video  call  can  be  made  at  the  end  of  the  demo.

2. Log in as Samy.

3. On your iPad, log into the Avaya One-X Flare Experience application as the boss, Jason. Then browse to a news service or other app on the iPad so the Flare client is running in the background.

4. On Samy’s computer, bring up a PowerPoint presentation to use as a prop in your demo. Samy is working on this and brings up the Avaya One-X Communicator client to IM Jason. Note that Samy can see Jason’s presence and availability before sending the IM (could also make a call, send email, or start a video collaboration).

Samy asks Jason a question about the presentation. “Are we using one or two servers in the design?” Jason has to check with Kevin, their SE on the team.

5. Jason finds Kevin on the contacts fan in his Flare Experience app. Note that presence indicates all the ways Jason could contact Kevin. He chooses IM and taps the green chat icon in Kevin’s contact card.

6. Once he has the info from Kevin, Jason switches back to the other IM session with Samy.

7. Samy asks if they can talk and Jason initiates a call by tapping the green phone icon in the IM window. (you may choose video if you wish here – just click the video icon in Samy’s contact card)

                                   

They finish discussing the presentation in the morning and wrap up their work for the evening. Because they were so efficient in collaborating they all got to bed early and were well rested for their presentation the following day – winning the deal!
