Notes:

1.Wetpilotheightshouldnotexceed"MaximumElevationAboveValve"(seedatafor

2.Anydeviationintrimsizeorarrangementmayadverselyaffecttheproper

operationofthedelugevalve.

3.Allthepilotsystemdevices,mustbeULListedandcompatiblewiththeparticular

Warning:Thedelugevalveandtrimmustbeinstalledonlyinareaswhere

theywillnotbesubjecttofreezing.

InstallationInstructions

1.Allowenoughroomaroundthevalveassemblyforanyadjustmentsand

futuremaintenance.

2.Beforethevalveisinstalled,flushthepipelinetoremoveanydirt,scale,

debris,etc.Notflushingthelinemayresultinthevalve'sbecoming

inoperable.

3.Installthevalveinthepipelinesothatthevalveflowarrowappearingon

thebodycastingispointinginthedesireddirection.Ensurethatthevalveis

positionedsothatthecovercanbeeasilyremovedforfuturemaintenance.

4.EnsurethattheControlTrimismountedproperlyandallother

componentsarepositionedcorrectlyasperillustration.

5.Afterinstallationinthemainline,carefullyinspect/correctanydamaged

Operation

PrincipleofOperation

TheKSKDelugeValve(assembledwithspecifictrim)issuitablefor

systemsthatincludeadequatedetectingandpipingsystemswithopen

nozzles.Thedelugevalvepreventswaterfromenteringsystempipinguntil

required.

ValveClosed(SetPosition)

Linepressureappliedtothecontrolchamberofthevalvecreatesasuperior

forcethatmovesthevalvetotheclosedpositionandprovidesdriptight

sealing.

Thedelugevalveiskeptclosedbypressureappliedtothecontrolchamber

througharestrictedprimingline.

IntheSETposition,thewaterpressuresuppliedthroughthepriminglineis

trappedinthecontrolchamberofthedelugevalvebyacheckvalve,andby

thenormallyclosedreleasedevice.

Thepressuretrappedinthecontrolchamberofthedelugevalvepresses

thevalvesealdiscdown,therebysealingthevalveandkeepingthesystem

pipingdry.

UnderconditionsofFIRE,whenthepressureisreleasedfromthecontrol

chamberbytheopeningoftheautomaticreleasingdeviceorbymanual

release,thedelugevalveopensandallowstheinletsupplywatertoflow

throughthevalveandintothesystempipingandalarmdevices.

Warning:WheneverthehandleoftheManualEmergencyReleaseispulled,

pressureisreleasedfromthecontrolchamber,thedelugevalvewillopen,

andwaterwillflowintosystempipingandalarmdevices.

Installation

ValveOpen(OperatingConditions)

Releasingthepressurefromthecontrolchambertoatmosphereorsome

otherlowerpressurezonecausesthelinepressureactingonthesealdisc

tomovethevalvetotheopenposition.
