  • Provincial Assessments • Numeracy Assessment (starting June 2018)

    – New Graduation Program requirement – Can be written after completion of Grade 10 (up to 3

    attempts) – 4 category proficiency scale to assess numeracy skills – Results will appear on transcripts and best outcome will be

    recorded

    • Literacy Assessment (starting June 2020) – 4 category proficiency scale to assess literacy skills – Will begin June 2020 for Grade 12 students upon

    completion of English Language Arts 12 • English Provincial Exam (40% of grade) will be used for

    June 2018 & June 2019

    • Course Selection Due Date : March 9, 2018 – Course Selection must be confirmed via Parent Connect

    • Gr.10: 8 courses – 6 required / 2 electives + 2 Alt • Gr.11: 8 courses – 4 required /4 electives + 2 Alt • Gr.12: 8 courses – 2 required / 6 electives + 3 Alt

    – If Gr. 12 students want a study block: 2 required/ 6 electives + 3 Alt

  • Process for Choosing Courses

    1) Student logs on to ‘Student Connect’ – Username: - - - - - (5-digit student #) – Password: _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ (month, day, year) 2) Highlight ‘Pick Courses’ 3) Make Selections 4) Save (or it will be lost) 5)Parent must then go onto Parent connect (under

    Pick Courses) and approve by clicking the FINAL box.
