Naledi – Educators

• Individual change requires system change.• The backbone of Naledi – 6Rs - is from a teacher

training model. • Educators’ & learners’ challenges are much the same.• Premise: every educator is a leader – students are

watching.• Educators have a need & appetite for deep reflection.

• Vanessa Makhathi (Graduate 2010)  I now make plans and stick to fulfilling them: integrity. I’m organised and think on my feet when under pressure. I appreciate the person I am.

• Neo Nakedi (Graduate 2011)  I’ve learnt that with power comes great responsibility and talking about things helps. I now meet deadlines and minimize excuses.

• Talent Sibanda (Graduate 2012)  I have great potential that I have not made use of but I could go far if I did. I used to pretend to be confident but after facing my fears I have discovered that I am smart, confident, adventurous, keen and success driven.

• Kanzita Leya (Graduate 2013) I have already realized that I should learn to own up to my actions and that change can only begin with me. My attitude to the little things that I take for granted is what has turned into a habit which is affecting my performance.

• Shekinah Molema (Graduate 2013) I have realized that life is too short for negative people; my foundation should be my values. It’s not only about being a leader on the outside but one on the inside as well.
