Delight- The Delightful Features

Delight, the automatic public Toilet Unit developed by Dea Celera is intended to improve

the sanitation facilities in the urban centres of the state. The unit has a unique structure

that facilitates the display of advertisement boards on its outer surface. This can act as a

source for additional income. This can also be a source of income for the people who are

given charge of operating a unit. Delight’s model gives more emphasis on Advertisement

revenue whereas the only income is in the form of coins in the traditional public toilet.

The unit will be located in places where huge population frequents. This location advantage

will ensure the attention of the crowd on the scrolling and revolving ads on the unit. A good

volume of revenue can be generated in this manner. The unit will provide approximately

400 sq.ft area for advertisement display.

Public Awareness through Advertisements

Govt/Corporates can use the advertisement space for promoting advertisements on health,

public policies, vaccination programmes, other awareness programmes etc. The inbuilt

audio of the unit can be used for broadcasting messages of the same nature also.

Income from Daily collection

The amount collected from the public for availing the service is another form of income. The

installation cost and other related expenses can easily be recovered through the daily

collection. This will provide income for maintain the unit in clean and perfect working

condition.

Employment / Business opportunity

The entrepreneurial model can generate employment opportunities. Unemployed youth or

small entrepreneurs can take benefit of this opportunity by taking bank loans and installing

and managing the unit in their region. The loan repayment can be ensured through the

advertisement and collection revenue. Each state has the potential to set up more than

lakhs of toilets.

Touch-Free washing ensured

The unit ensures touch free washing for the user. For personal hygiene, the unit has a pipe.

The toilet flush can be activated with a switch and the floor is cleaned with an internal

cleaning mechanism.

Cleanliness Assured

Traditionally, cleaning toilets was considered a low esteem job and usually carried out by

marginalized segment of society. Delight will ensure an elevated job status for them as it

does not virtually require any manual cleaning. The system is fully mechanized. The self

cleaning system will take care of the floor also. Since the entire system is automatic,

cleanliness can be ensured throughout the operation of the system. Periodical manual

monitoring of the system can be arranged where 50 systems will be managed by a group of

two persons. They will be provided with a vehicle and will be equipped with sterilising

machines for cleaning the units. This also is a completely touch-free process. This is another

way for generating employment; for every 50 units, two persons will be employed to

monitor it.

Portability

The unit is portable. It can be dismantled and assembled in a very short time and can be

shifted safely from one location to another.

Enhances Public Responsibility

Municipal Corporations can project this scheme as a public responsibility mission i.e. to

provide hygienic public toilet system in the corporation. Since the space required is minimal

and civil works are negligible, there is least effort required in installing the system.

The unit has adopted a sleek design which gels perfectly with the ambience of a

metropolitan city. The modular design, trendy and cosy exteriors and contemporary

interiors of the unit are bound to get the appreciation of both the natives of the country and

also the tourists.

Ensuring safety and security of women & children

The unit has adequate safety and security features to ensure the protection of its users,

especially of women and children. Moreover the units are manned by authorised personnel

to check any illicit access or intrusions.

Optimum Water usage

Water is optimally used in the toilet. The water usage is based on the occupation status and

time of the unit. If a person uses the system for three minutes, system will flush only 1.5

liters of water. If the unit is occupied for more than 3 minutes, system will flush 4 liters of

water. The household toilets use 7 litres per usage. The system also has a power flushing

and sucking system that further reduces the usage of water. If the user exceeds the allotted

water per usage, i.e.; if he is trying to misuse the water, the system will alert him on the

usage.

Remote controls for proper management

Unit can be connected and accessed by a web or mobile application. The implementation

agency would be able to know the working status, down-time, service details etc of the

system, thus giving it more accountability. If the system fails for any reason, implementation

agency will get the exact details on the system, its present working condition etc.

Electricity Usage

System can also draw energy from solar sources if the area of implementation is apt for the

solar power. System is designed in a way that it will use only limited power for the

functioning. Lights and Fans are controlled through Motion Sensors, as it will work only

when a person enters the unit.

Sewage Treatment

System can be connected to the existing sewage system, drainage or pits. There is a

compact bio enzyme tank available that can also be used for sewage disposal. The recycled

water from the unit can be used for agricultural or gardening purposes.

Unique technology features

‘Delight’ is the outcome of a unique convergence of electronics-web-mobile technologies.

• Unit can be managed from a remote location; the system can be closed down or

remote washing can be done through GPRS controls.

• Coin Validator is capable of accepting any coins.

• If the Drainage Tank is full, alert will be sent to the Control Room.
