Adapting to sustainable living is the need of hour. An ISA activity was organized to make the
students aware about the concept of sustainable living and its requirement in the future. Class
IV students researched on the sustainable practices of a specific country and collated the data
in form of data sheets. Thereafter students worked on creating of questionnaires regarding the
sustainable practices and conducted a survey in senior classes. The collected data was recorded,
analysed and represented in form of bar graphs. Further as an extension of the activity, students
prepared collages in the class and displayed them. This became a great facilitator in generating
and clarifying the sustainable practices, concept and ideologies amongst the students. The
enthusiasm and excitement to gather knowledge on Sustainable practices and aiding in
improving Mother Earth’s natural balance was evident through the innovative and colourful
work of the students.
LET’S CONNECT Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much. Students of classes IV & V organized the very first edition of Annual Conference- 2017-18 on
Sustainable Living- as a part of the ISA activities. The conference provided the students a
platform to express their views as they participated in debates, public speaking, writing and
critical thinking, while discussing international affairs. The students participated as
representatives of 7 countries and discussed the policies, challenges and the steps taken to
maintain sustainable living. They received recognition in form of Best Delegates, High
Commendations and special mentions for their efforts.
KATHAKAR The purpose of a story teller is not to tell you how to think, But to give you questions to think
upon.
To understand the importance and intricacies of storytelling, the teachers of DPSG International
attended a THEATRE FEST - "Kathakar" International Storytellers Festival organized in
collaboration with Nivesh at IGNCA. The three-day event saw participation of storytellers from
United Kingdom, Belgium, Italy and India as they presented various forms of storytelling like
riddles, Nautanki, Shadow Puppetry etc. It was a great opportunity to be a part of the sessions
conducted by some of the best storytellers of our times.
ONE TEAM - ONE DREAM Cricket and life are alike,
Every ball equals every minute
Every shot equals an opportunity.
Every wicket is an obstacle.
The DPSGI believes in building team spirit and giving ample opportunity for its students to
enhance the same. The students of class 2 participated in 5th Kids Challenge Cricket
Tournament for class 1. The budding sportsmen enthusiastically played the tournament along
with cricketers of 6 different schools. They bagged the third position in the tournament and
returned with trophies and a sense of achievement.
CELEBRATING PINK AND BLUE COLOUR DAY One could say things with colour and shapes that couldn’t be said any other way.
The tiny tots of STARZ came dressed in pink and blue coloured clothes as they celebrated “Pink and Blue
Colour Day”. Using various shapes of pink and blue colour, they made picture scenes displaying their
creativity. They also spoke few lines about the different objects they created. Students also enjoyed creating
a corner putting different blue and pink colour objects together.
READING IS A GOOD HABIT. “We shouldn’t teach great books; We should teach a love for reading.” Students of class IV Daisy presented an assembly on “Reading is a good habit”. The assembly
started off with ‘Sarvadharam Prarthana’ and English prayer. An inspiring thought was followed
by vocabulary enrichment and news headlines A short enactment was presented to convey the
importance of reading. Short poems were also presented by the children reiterating the
importance of reading. Students also reflected on the festival - Milad-Ul-Nabi, and narrated
the significance on World’s AIDS Day and World Disability Day.
SPEAK UP YOUR MIND
Extempore is the art of public speaking that is carried out without preparation or forethought.
To imbibe a true spirit of learning in students and to enhance the communication skills in them, an
Intra-class Extempore Competition, was held for students of classes IV - V.
The students were asked to pick up slips of paper which contained a variety of topics from varied
subjects such as current affairs, English, Science, and general awareness. Each participant got
one minute to think over the topic. The first warning bell indicated the end of this first minute.
Then they got another one minute to speak on the given topic. It was very heartening to see the
immense talent and fantastic impromptu speeches made by the participants.
INTER-HOUSE ROLE PLAY “To dwellers in a wood, almost every species of tree has its voice as well as its features.”
Trees are our best friends and play an important role in our life …keeping the same thought in
mind students of classes 4 and 5 participated in an Inter House Role play on Importance of trees
in our daily life, as a part of ISA Activity- Sustainable Living Practices. They showcased the
Tembusu tree from Singapore, Eucalyptus from Australia, Maple tree from Russia, Banyan tree
from India, Oak, Brown leafed Mahogany and many others.
Students shared the different ways in which trees are important to us, their distinctive qualities,
economic importance and why survival is difficult without them through narration of
interesting stories. They also shared the relevance of particular trees for the natives of the
country they belong.
SPELL BEE “Spelling is important because it aids in reading. It helps cement the connection that is shared between sounds and letters.” An Inter-House Spell Bee Competition was organized in the ICT lab for classes I, II and III. This
competition helped students to improve their spellings, increase their vocabulary, and develop
skills to use English words correctly. The rounds of the final competition comprised of Power
spell, Picture round, Word Scramble and Buzzer round. Children participated earnestly in the
competition. Their efforts and participation were appreciated by one and all.
BLOW AND JUMP DPSG International recognizes the importance of developing eye-hand coordination skills at a
tender age and helps enhance such skills through various fun activities. Students participated
in a Blow and Jump activity in which they had to blow a ball with the help of a straw and move
the ball towards the center of a snail ring.
They also did another activity - ‘follow my steps’ in which they had to jump on a foot step from
another in a particular pattern. It was a joyful learning experience for them.
WASTE NOT WANT NOT
Waste management is the process of treating solid wastes.
Students of DPSGI class 2 Daisy took an initiative to enhance their learning about waste
management and segregation of waste as a part of their ongoing theme - Sharing the Planet.
They learnt about the different kind of waste and how to segregate them into different coloured
dustbins to make the dumping process easier and manageable and at the same time, separating
materials to be recycled. They also took a pledge to do their bit to save our environment.
CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION
Class 2 Daisy organized a class party on the eve of Christmas where they made a small
Christmas tree, a snow man and wrapped few gifts. The feeling of celebrating their own
creativity could be seen on their faces as they decorated the tree and shared their favourite food
and danced gaily. The class teacher wearing a Santa mask and distributing candies made the
event even more enjoyable.
MATHS WEEK To commemorate the Birth anniversary of Sh. Ramanujan, Maths week was celebrated in the
PYP wing with great ardour.
Each grade participated in a variety of Maths competitions and activities. Starz played Snakes
and Ladders with a mathematical twist, had Fun with Shapes and Hopscotch whilst learning the
nuances of Mathematics. For Grade 1 Pattern, Ice cream Cone on Place Value and a mental Math
Competition was conducted. Grade 2 had fun with maths through Fun with Numbers, shapes on
Christmas tree and the Pictograph activities. In Grade 3 students understood and contemplated
the concept of symmetry through Butterflies and Flowers, and brought forth their creativity
with innovative and novel ideas.
The students also prepared Venn Diagrams and a Fraction wall in their classes. The Maths Week
ended with students displaying their Mathematical understanding and knowledge through
poster making. The posters represented their insights and understanding of the various concepts
of maths.
The celebrations were taken forward with an Inter House Mathematics Quiz, for grade 4 and 5.
The quiz consisted of three rounds, Pass on the problem quiz, Rapid Fire and Buzzer round
respectively. Satluj house and Yamuna house were the winners of the quiz.
SKYPE COLLABORATION ON “SEE GREEN SEE LIFE”
Students of grade 4 and 5 had an interactive session with their partner school Buturlinovskaya
School, Russia as a part of ISA activity on Sustainable living. Students shared ideas related to
Sustainable Living such as rights and responsibilities towards their surroundings, biodiversity,
recycling etc. They also discussed about global conservation concerns like Deforestation and
sustainable consumption across different developed and developing nations. During their skype
session students of grade 4 and 5 showcased themselves as conservers, collaborators and idea
generators who have potential to significantly influence their communities and the world. The
students posed questions, presented solutions and engaged effectively with the real world.
CHRISTMASSY
Educational visits are very important for the overall development of a student. It gives
them an opportunity to learn from their own experiences. Taking students on such
visits gives them the experience of travelling in a group and teaches them to be
respectful of the locations they visit. On the occasion of Christmas, the school
organized an educational visit for the students of STARZ and Class I to a Church at
Gandhinagar. This was an attempt to make the students aware of the various festivals
celebrated in our country. They offered prayer in the church, danced to the tune of
Jingle bells and were ecstatic on getting chocolates from Santa Claus.
SCRAP BOOK ACTIVITIES
Class 2 Daisy made beautiful drawings and craft work in scrap book in theme “Sharing the
Planet” as a part of the ‘Making Conclusion’ of Kath Murdoch’s inquiry cycle. They depicted
Earth as a “blue planet” highlighting the reason for it. They also made different coloured
dustbins using tearing and pasting technique and mentioned the type of trash thrown into them.
They pledged to keep the surroundings clean and learnt to make choices that can help sustain
and maintain the earth’s resources.
CREATE AND ANALYZE
Class 2 Daisy made 3 in 1 project where they created a Christmas tree and snow man spreading
the message of saving Earth considering 5R’s. They decided not to use plastic trees or cut down a
real tree, instead they created a Christmas tree and a snowman using old newspapers. They
jotted down the number of 2D and 3D shapes used in the tree and wrote sentences on the things
placed in front of them.

The supreme quality for leadership is unquestionably integrity…. Class IV Lotus
conducted morning assembly on the theme INTEGRITY under the guidance of Ms.
Neeraj Singh. They started the day with Sarvadharm Prarthana and English prayer.
The word INTEGRITY was shared with the students with its meaning and sentence.
This was followed by thought for the day and then reciting a poem on INTEGRITY.
The students were updated with latest happenings around the world. A story was also
narrated to enlighten the students how important it is to show integrity of character
even in the most taxing situations.
ASSEMBLY
A special assembly to usher in the new year was put up by class III. The students showcased their
theme ‘Forgiveness’ very aptly through a skit, a poem and a beautiful thought. The students
shared a vocabulary word to enrich their vocabulary. They spoke on New Year Resolutions and
a group of students presented a small role play on a story based on FORGIVENESS.
A DATE WITH SANTA The school organized an exciting and frolicking winter carnival to celebrate Christmas and New Year. The
carnival was held on 23rd Dec, 2017 in the school grounds and was entirely an in house affair. The students of
class IV – XI put up various stalls and organized entertaining games for the parents and guests. Live theater
and dance performances were also put up to showcase the talent of the students. Lip smacking foods along
with handicraft items were a special treat for the visitors as they browsed through diaries, pen stands, and
other knick-knacks on sale. A lucky draw was also taken out on the occasion wherein a tablet, a smartphone
and Kindle e-reader were given out to the winners. The fun filled event was a huge success and was
appreciated by all the guests and parents.
ANTI POLLUTION RALLY Class VIII students of DPSG International organized rally in Rishabh Vihar and Sona Enclave, Modinagar to
create awareness about the ill effects of pollution. The students went from door to door to make people aware
about ways to reduce pollution and asked them questions related to the increasing air pollution.
Students of DPSG International conducted an Anti-pollution drive in Hapur. The students conducted a rally
and a survey to check the awareness of people regarding various forms of pollution and create awareness
among them regarding remedial measures that can be taken to control pollution. The students from class VI-
XI questioned the residents and filled out the survey sheets according to the response and awareness of the
residents.
VISIT TO GOETHE INSTITUTE
German students visited to the Goethe Institute at Max Mueller Bhawan as a part of their curriculum. They
visited the library and watched a movie on German Culture & History. Later they participated in a quiz
based on the movie. They also played games like Bingo bilder, Mit köpchen, Die Rund Reise to enhance their
vocabulary. As a part of the Christmas Celebrations Goethe Institute organized a lucky draw and Arav
Singhal of class VI won a prize. Students also got exciting badges from Goethe Institute.
SKYPE SESSION WITH DUBAI STUDENTS The school hosted a Skype video call for students with the students of a French school Ecole Marcel Pagnol,
Montauroux. Students from both nations practiced their second language skills by singing songs and speaking
in turn. It was an interactive session where students from both the countries asked each other questions related
to school, education system, subjects etc. The students from both the countries also sang their respective
national anthems. The exchange was a new step towards a world with no boundaries and a world full of peace,
friendship and love for each other. This Skype Conference is a record of a unique partnership between the
culture and education of the two countries.
MATHS WEEK Any impatient student of mathematics or science or engineering who is irked by having algebraic symbolism
thrust upon him should try to get along without it for a week.

Mathematics week was celebrated with great enthusiasm as students participated in various activities and
displayed their logical and analytical skills.
Students of class 6 created a scene using geometrical figures wherein they made a park scene, a snowman, life
under the water etc. They demonstrated their creative skills using geometrical shapes.
Class 7 students were divided in groups and participated in a Mental Maths Quiz. It was fun to see them
critically thinking, logically reasoning and mentally computing problems.
Students of class 8 brought waste 3-D shapes and created different objects/ scenes using these shapes. They
used matchboxes, water bottles, balloons, medicine boxes etc. to create mickey mouse, Christmas tree, Robo
girl etc.
An Inter House Quiz for classes VI to VIII was also organized. The students competed against each other as
they put their reasoning and problem-solving skills to test in the 4 rounds of MCQs, Visuals, Puzzles and Rapid
fire. The audience was equally excited to answer questions. Yamuna House bagged the first position, Satluj
House secured the second position and Cauvery house won third position.
A “Pick up a problem” activity was conducted for students wherein they were divided in groups and given
freedom to choose 1, 2 or 5 marks questions. They were given 15 minutes to finish as many questions as they
could. It was a race against time for them.
On the “Maths Magic” day students came prepared with many different tricks and magic with numbers and
surprized everyone with their talent.
QUIZ AT DPSGI An entertaining and informative Inter House Quiz Competition was organized for students of classes VI-VIII.
The key objective behind organizing the quiz was to create awareness among the students about the different
types of living habits, culture, traditions, festivals etc. of the people of India, France, Dubai, Switzerland and
Singapore. The quiz aimed at enriching the students know how about the historical events, great leaders and
important monuments of various countries. A wide range of questions were posed to which the participants
replied confidently.
CAUVERY HOUSE ASSEMBLY A special assembly was put up by Cauvery House to mark the Consumer Day and celebrate the New Year.
The assembly began with the Sarvdharm Prarthana followed by the thought for the day and vocabulary word.
The current news update was followed by a speech on significance of Consumer Day and poetry recitation on
new hopes and new dreams for the new year. Principal Mrs. Anita Sethi encouraged the students to look
forward to the new year with new aspirations and set new goals.
INFINITUS IT FEST Students of DPSG International participated in INFINITUS – IT Fest organized by DPSG Meerut Road. Amiya
Akshun of class III L and Harshit Panwar of class IV D bagged third position in I-Safe Inforgraphics event.
Advik Singh of class V D and Manvi Chauhan of class VI A bagged second position in PowerPoint Perfect.
Vansh Narula of class VIII B and Yash Malik of class IX B secured third position in Robo Olympics. Nihir
Agarwal and Ankit Pandey of class XII S bagged third position in the Java Mania event.
AIDS AWARENESS SESSION DPSG International organized an AIDS Awareness session for students of classes IX and XI in collaboration
with the Columbia Asia Hospital on the occasion of World AIDS Day. Doctors visited the school and
conducted a session for the students where they highlighted the symptoms and causes of the deadly
disease and spoke on the methods of prevention against the disease. During the interactive session the
students were told about the peculiar ways in which the virus behaved and the need to empathize with the
patients suffering from this disease. They were urged to accept the patients and their children as a part of the
society and help them lead a normal life. Students’ doubts and questions were answered by the doctor and the
session ended with a promise to spread awareness against AIDS.
CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP
Keeping in view the importance of pedagogy in science and technology, our teachers Ms. Anju Rani Kapil
and Mr. Abhinav Datta participated in a two day workshop on Capacity Building. The workshop was
conducted at Salwan Public School, Tronica City, Loni and was organized by CBSE in order to provide an
insight into different methods and techniques for developing scientific temperament in children. The teachers
were made aware of various strategies to make science classes interesting and interactive. They also
participated in different activities on assessment skills, curriculum framework, setting question papers and
team building. It was an enriching and a great learning experience.
AIDS SURVEY
Students of class IX conducted a survey on AIDS Awareness at Dasna Jail Campus on 4th December, 2017.
Children asked the residents questions pertaining to AIDS and HIV. They also cleared many taboos and
myths associated to AIDS by taking a session after conducting survey. They highlighted some important facts
associated with AIDS and told about the symptoms and window period of the disease. The residents were
made aware about the test for AIDS and ways to prevent it.
SPORTS FEST
DPSG International organized a three-day Sports fest where 8 teams from schools of NCR Ghaziabad vied for
top honours in Cricket, Football, Taekwando and Basketball. Principal Anita Sethi welcomed the participants
and urged them to compete in the events in the true spirit of sportsmanship.
In Basketball the competition was held in both boy’s and girl’s categories. In Cricket DPSG Meerut Road
emerged champions with DPSG International taking up the Runners up position. In Football Ryan
International took up the Runners up place with DPSG International bagging the top honours. In the girls
Basketball Uttam School for Girls bagged the top honours with DPSG Vasundhara taking up the second
position and in the boys category New Era Public school won the first place and DPSG International had to
settle for the second position. In the Taekwando DPSG International was declared winners and DPSG Meerut
Road were the Runners up.
VVM EXAM Students of DPSG International participated in the online exam Vidhyarthi Vigyan Manthan on 3rd
December 2017. India’s largest talent based exam based on Digital devices was organized by NCERT, Vigyan
Prasar and Vijnana Bharti. The exam provided the students an opportunity to test and polish their scientific
and analytical skills.
COUNSELLING AND LEARNING SESSION (no Pics) The school organized a special counselling session for commerce students of class XI -XII wherein counsellors
from Edumentor told the students about the various career options for commerce students and guided them
regarding admission procedures. In the second half Mr. Tapan Pathak took up an interactive session on the
Case Studies of Business Studies and gave students valuable tips on how to attempt these questions in
examinations. The session was an enriching experience for the students who gleaned a lot of information from
the experts.
CBSE REGIONAL LEVEL SCIENCE EXHIBITION
Two teams of DPSG International participated in CBSE Regional Level Science Exhibition held
at Gurukul-The school from 27-29th December 2017. 150 schools showcased a total of 228
exhibits on six different sub themes based on “Innovations for Sustainable Development”. Our
school achieved the distinction of being the only school in the entire NCR to have both teams
selected in the top 18 teams for participation in the National Level competition.
Ekansh Agarwal and Ayush Dube of class XI presented their exhibit with the title ‘Smart
Generator – Magnetic confinement of plasma’ based on the sub-theme ‘Digital and Smart
Technology solutions’. Hannan Qadri and Chaitanya Salwan of Class XI presented their exhibit
with the title ‘Sensors for aging Society’ based on the sub-theme ‘Health’.
