Administration CornerWelcome to the New Year! We hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday season. It is officially winter, which means the chance for inclement weather! In the case of a school closing or delayed opening, all parents will receive an email via the Tadpoles system. There will also be a message on the Ivy League Facebook page and on the school voicemail. On Tuesday, January 28th and Wednesday, January 29th we will have Parent- teacher conferences. There will be a sign up sheet posted on each classroom door for you to sign up between 12pm and 2pm to meet with your child’s teacher. The conference can either be done in person or by telephone. The teachers are excited to share your child’s progress.

It’s time to brush up on your history! During the week of January 13th, each day there will be a trivia question about Benjamin Franklin and Martin Luther King, Jr. posted on the lobby window. This month we are going to learn about farm animals. We will learn the sounds that farm animals make and sing Old Mcdonald.

Happy New Year! For the month of January the Cornell Cub classroom will learn about winter and nutrition. Our monthly concepts for this month are the shape diamond, the number 5, the color white and the letters I&J. We will also learn about Benjamin franklin and Martin Luther king Jr. We will have fun learning a new nursery rhyme during circle time every day for literacy.

We would like to introduce Ms. Jennalyn to our Dartmouth classroom. She is so excited to get to know you and your children. She brings lots of fun and new ideas to the classroom. She will be joined by Ms. Natasha who is very known to the Ivy league family. She is creative and has a genuine love for the children. She too is eager to start teaching your child. We would like to thank Ms. Cassidy for all her hard work. She has done a great job and will be missed. You can visit Ms. Cassidy in our Infant Classroom and helping out in all classrooms.

Princeton Preschool Hello Princeton Preschool parents. This month is filled with fun and excitement our main focus for this month will be creativity in literature. We will learn nursery rhymes and creative colorful poems. For science we are talking about winter safety and creating snow. The children will discuss the history of Martin Luther King Jr.

Harvard Pre-K

For the month of January we will be focusing on a series of nursery rhymes and traditional poems. The letters of the month are O-R. We also will learn about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the important role he played in history. We will learn about the Chinese New Year and make fun crafts. Please remember to check mail folders daily and to take blankets and sheets on Friday and return them on Monday in a Ziploc bag. -Ms. Farah and Ms. Danna

Ms. Shetawra has been a teacher with us for over 9 years! She is extremely dedicated, loyal, caring and fun! Children and parents alike cannot wait to get to Ms. Shetawra’s class, Cornell Cubs B. She has gained the reputation of being a “potty training Master” and has helped dozens of children and families through this important developmental milestone. She implements curriculum that is both developmentally appropriate and fun. She engages the children in activities that help them build skills, develop conceptual knowledge and strengthen independence. Ms. Shetawra is a wonderful asset to Ivy League!
