COUNCIL DIRECTORS 2017-2018

FROM THE DISTRICT DEPUTY

FROM THE DISTRICT DEPUTY

This past month, I had the unpleasant experience to have lost a relative and personally witnessing, not only the pain exhibited by a loved one of the deceased, but see the disappointment in the eyes of the survivor when she learned that the deceased did not have life insurance. As a result of this, I am so glad that I and so many of you have coverage with the greatest carrier in the country, the Knight of Columbus.

September 2017, was designated Life Insurance Awareness Month by the Knights of Columbus. The purpose was to give you an opportunity to evaluate your life insurance coverage and make sure your family’s future will not be left to chance. Did you do so?

Please do not wait until you witness or experience a family without insurance. It is sad and one that, I am sure, that you do not want your family members to experience.

If you do not know how much insurance you need, there is a full-time professional brother Knight field agent named, Bradley Bar-don, who is ready and willing to help you determine the most cost-effective means of getting your family the coverage it needs. He can be reached at 919-302-1377 or [email protected].

Don’t leave things to chance. “TEMPUS FUGIT – MEMENTO MORI”

The Knights of Columbus Council 12366 would like to wholeheartedly express their gratitude to all the parishioners of St. Philip

Neri for making the 2017 Food Drive a great success. This year we were able to deliver just a little over 10,200 lbs of food collect-

ed from our Parish, ST. Philip Neri, during the weekend of Nov 18-19th. The food collected is for the Fort Mill Care Center,- to be

distributed within our community to those in need. It is truly a Blessing to do this event. We appreciate the continued support of

our Parishioners and our Brother Knights. We would especially like to thank Two Men and a Truck for donating their truck, time

and for helping us with this very worthy cause. Merry Christmas to all….

INSURANCE NEWS

Life Insurance as a (Christmas) Gift?

The initial reaction for many people when you mention life insurance as a gift is a quick step back and a questioning stare. âHow morbid,â they think. While it may seem that way when you first mention it, life insurance is really a thoughtful gift that can be a fi-nancial life preserver in tough times.

The problem with life insurance is the general perception. Many think of death instead of the great benefits it provides, and the secu-rity that it offers â even while youâre alive. Life insurance should be thought of as a precautionary protective measure for a family unit. The purchase of this product can mean saving your home, sending your children to college, and preserving your spouseâs quali-ty of life in the event of your death.

One of the times you may want to purchase life insurance for someone is when a family has a new baby. Itâs a great, low-cost way to set money aside for the future (i.e. college tuition, housing, business start-up, etc.). Of greater importance, it ensures these children will have insurance as adults, in case an illness later in life makes him or her uninsurable.

Newlyweds are also ideal recipients for life insurance. As they join their lives and financial responsibilities, young couples need to make sure that their early investments are fully protected. If something were to happen to one of them, the other may be faced with serious financial hardship. A life insurance policy is an ideal way to ensure their future and protect their assets.

As nontraditional as it may be, life insurance is a wise and caring gift to purchase for many people.
