HOSTING: #GOALSHOSTING: #GOALS

At the beginning of May I published my index of 101 Things in 1001 Days; my to-do list of short-term

and longer-term goals. It just so happens that 9 of the 101 goals I would like to accomplish over the next 2.75

years entail entertaining (items 31-32 and 73-79). After living in New York City for 14 years, I don’t have a

lot of experience as a hostess under my belt. Now that we have more space and a real home, hosting is

something I hope to begin to master.

With my hosting goals in mind, my latest coffee table book is Annie Falk’s, Hamptons Entertaining: Creating

Occasions to Remember, just released in May. The author, Annie, is a philanthropist and event organizer,

trained under legendary chef Roger Vergé at Le Moulin de Mougins in Provence, with residences in the

Hamptons and Palm Beach. Following her first book, Palm Beach Entertaining, Annie’s second

publication, Hamptons Entertaining, highlights exceptional dinner parties at some of the grandest estates on

the East End of Long Island—with a conscience.

Passionate about bettering the world around her, Annie showcases a glittering array of tastemakers

tips, and over 80 recipes, Falk highlights how seasonal ingredients and local produce aid in environmental

preservation—not to mention: make loved ones feel right at home. Hamptons Entertaining has a wealth of

information, advice, and inspiration for experienced and novice entertainers (like me) alike.
