decor style categories Hi there! Using decor style categories, you can easily plan out your home decor without over buying and cluttering your home. Here is a list of different types of categories. It’s perfectly okay to have different categories working together in the same room! A compilation of categories helps you find your style and make it unique. Plus, you can change up your categories in different rooms!

Color categories: Start by choosing a color category. For example, in my living room, I am going for tan and blues. So in the stores, I’m looking for things that are blue, tan, or a mixture of both. Choose 1 main color (typically a neutral color) and 1-3 accent colors. Below are some examples. Style categories: It’s necessary to choose an overall style for either your whole house or specific rooms. For example, I am going for a natural/rustic kind of look. So with my living room example, when I look for items, I’m looking for a natural and rustic look (not a modern look) with the blues and tans. Accent Decor categories: Accent pieces and accent decor will help make your color and style categories stand out. For example, with my natural/rustic kind of look, I love adding wood pieces (wall hangings, furniture, storage boxes, etc) where I can. Themed categories: A themed category is a little different from a style category in that it’s more specific. If you’re going for a specific them, you’re probably not going for a general style. Themed categories are used a lot for children’s bedrooms or man caves. For example: Sports Animals Cars School room
