Brainstorming During brainstorming
sessions there should therefore be no criticism of ideas: You are trying to open up possibilities and break down wrong assumptions about the limits of the problem. Judgments and analysis at this stage will stunt idea generation.

Moving With Time In the past, organizational
decision-making was a formal process, voting when the chairperson called for a vote.
Involving new or young generation in decision-making process can be more dynamic, involving internet surveys and discussion groups.
Decisions-making can be big and small – they happen everyday, everywhere.
![Page 14: Decision making](https://reader033.fdocuments.in/reader033/viewer/2022051520/58f307941a28ab62548b4597/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)
Everyone Has A Right!1. Consensus – everyone
must agree2. Top-down – A “chain of
command”, delegates to make decisions, take action
3. Majority Rule – greatest number of people makes the choice for the group
4. No Structure – decisions are made with no specific process, people make individual decisions
![Page 15: Decision making](https://reader033.fdocuments.in/reader033/viewer/2022051520/58f307941a28ab62548b4597/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
IT’s ABOUT RELATIONSHIP
“All successful community change programs work because of people’s relationships with each other.”
![Page 16: Decision making](https://reader033.fdocuments.in/reader033/viewer/2022051520/58f307941a28ab62548b4597/html5/thumbnails/16.jpg)
6 Steps Of Decision Making
Define the problem Specify your goals Develop solutions Select a solution Implement your solution
![Page 17: Decision making](https://reader033.fdocuments.in/reader033/viewer/2022051520/58f307941a28ab62548b4597/html5/thumbnails/17.jpg)
Decision Making
Train Track & Children
![Page 18: Decision making](https://reader033.fdocuments.in/reader033/viewer/2022051520/58f307941a28ab62548b4597/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)
This is not a slide Jus a intro of a train track n childrenIt is a speech we hv to give
The story given here is Quite interesting and really gives us a insight into decision making
![Page 19: Decision making](https://reader033.fdocuments.in/reader033/viewer/2022051520/58f307941a28ab62548b4597/html5/thumbnails/19.jpg)
A group of children were playing near two railway tracks, one still in useother in disused. Only one child played on disused track, the rest on the operational track
![Page 20: Decision making](https://reader033.fdocuments.in/reader033/viewer/2022051520/58f307941a28ab62548b4597/html5/thumbnails/20.jpg)
The train came, and you were just beside the track interchange. It was not possible to stop the train, but you could make the train change it course to the disused track and saved most of the children
![Page 21: Decision making](https://reader033.fdocuments.in/reader033/viewer/2022051520/58f307941a28ab62548b4597/html5/thumbnails/21.jpg)
However, that would also mean the lone child playing with the disused would be sacrificed . Or would you rather let train go its way ?
Lets take a pause to think what kind of decision we could make……..
![Page 22: Decision making](https://reader033.fdocuments.in/reader033/viewer/2022051520/58f307941a28ab62548b4597/html5/thumbnails/22.jpg)
Most of the people might choose to divert the course of the train, and sacrifice only one child. To save most of the children at the cost of only one child was rational decision most of the people would make, morally and emotionally.
![Page 23: Decision making](https://reader033.fdocuments.in/reader033/viewer/2022051520/58f307941a28ab62548b4597/html5/thumbnails/23.jpg)
But have you ever thought the child choosing to play on the disused track, had in fact made the right decision to play at a safe place..?
Nevertheless , he had to be sacrificed because of his ignorant friend who choose to play where the danger was..
![Page 24: Decision making](https://reader033.fdocuments.in/reader033/viewer/2022051520/58f307941a28ab62548b4597/html5/thumbnails/24.jpg)
The kind of dilemma happens around us everyday, in office, in society, in politics. The minority is often sacrificed of the majority , no matter how foolish or ignorant majority are. And how farsighted and knowledgeable the minority are..
![Page 25: Decision making](https://reader033.fdocuments.in/reader033/viewer/2022051520/58f307941a28ab62548b4597/html5/thumbnails/25.jpg)
The child who choose to play with rest of the operational track was sidelined . And in the case he was sacrificed, no one would shed a tear for him.
![Page 26: Decision making](https://reader033.fdocuments.in/reader033/viewer/2022051520/58f307941a28ab62548b4597/html5/thumbnails/26.jpg)
To make a proper decision is not to change the course of the train because the children playing on the operational track should have known very well that track was still in use and that they should have run away if they heard the train’s sirens
![Page 27: Decision making](https://reader033.fdocuments.in/reader033/viewer/2022051520/58f307941a28ab62548b4597/html5/thumbnails/27.jpg)
If the train was diverted, the lone child would definitely die because the train could come over to that track !Moreover the track was not in use probably because it was not safe
![Page 28: Decision making](https://reader033.fdocuments.in/reader033/viewer/2022051520/58f307941a28ab62548b4597/html5/thumbnails/28.jpg)
If the train was diverted to the track, we could put the lives of all the passengers on board to stake. And in your attempt to save few children by sacrificing one child, you might end up sacrificing hundred of people to save these few children
![Page 29: Decision making](https://reader033.fdocuments.in/reader033/viewer/2022051520/58f307941a28ab62548b4597/html5/thumbnails/29.jpg)
While we all are aware that life is full of tough decision that need to be made, we may not realize that hasty decision may always not be the right one.
“ Remember that what’s right isn’t always popular …and what’s popular isn’t always right.”
![Page 30: Decision making](https://reader033.fdocuments.in/reader033/viewer/2022051520/58f307941a28ab62548b4597/html5/thumbnails/30.jpg)
Everybody makes mistake; that’s why they put erasers on pencils
