Students’ Block :Workshops Organized :B.Voc. Web Technology and Multimedia department
organized a three day workshop on Word Press Technology
from 3rd to 5th December, 2018. Word Press is an online open
source website creation tool based on PHP. It is the easiest
and most powerful blogging and website content
management system in existence today. II and III B.Voc
students participated and created many online websites valid
for one year.
Department of Home Science organized a three day work-
shop on 14th ,15th and 22nd of December, 2018 for I, II and III
year Home Science students on Screen Printing. B. Jyothi,
Jyothi Designing Works, Palakollu was the resource per-
son. First two days, Kadhi Binder, Normal Binder, Lazar 4000,
Fast fix Binder, Emboss Binder, Silver Binder,
Gold+Silver+Copper Binder, Glitter Binder were demon-
strated. On 22nd Screen Printing on T-Shirts and Saree were
demonstrated. Home science students had an opportunity
of learning various screen printing skills and techniques
through the workshop.
Ethnic Week Celebrations:
Department of Social Sciences organized Ethnic week
celebrations from 13th to 21st December 2018. Inaugural
session was on 13th December. MathruPithru
Pujyosthavam was conducted on the eve of parents meet.
Arts students honoured their parents with much love and
respect.
On 14th December a Guest lecture by Dr.Nirmala Devi
gyneacologist on Heath care in adolescence age and
Extempore competition on Traditions and Customs in
modern era. On 15th conducted Mehandi and Hair style
competitions. On 18th singing competition and Essay writing
competition. On 19th Sampradaya ruchulu competition and
Rangoli competitions. On 20th conducted Fancy dress in
sampradhaya Vasthradharana and dance competitions. On
21st organized a talk on Traditions and customs and the
scientific reasons by Dr. N. Nagavardanam. she gave a
wonderful revelation of many traditions and the scientific
reasons behind them.
All the students actively participated in various events.
National Mathematics Day Celebrations:
On the eve of birth anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan
on 22nd December , Department of Mathematics organized
National Mathematics Day Celebrations from 14th to 19th
December 2018. Various Competitions were conducted for
all the students such as Quiz Competition, Essay writing
Competition ,Poster presentation Competitions.
Celebration of Energy Conservation Week : As a part of Energy Conservation Week
celebrations the department of Physics and Electronics
organized a PPT competition on 15th December, 2018. The
participants presented papers related to Energy
Conservation and Renewable Energy Sources.
Dr.A.Padmavathi and Dr.Mrs.A.Nirmala Jyothsna were the
judges for the competition. All the presentations were very
informative and enlightening the students about various
Alternate Energy sources and their applications in different
fields. All the students of SCOPE club and E-hub were the
audience for these PPT presentations.

Guest lecture organized :
Department of Social Sciences organized a guest lecture
by Sri. B. K. S. Ayyangar on 21st December, 2018. The
topic is ‘ History and importance of Architecture in West
Godavari Temples’.
Training Programmes :
APSSDC organized classes for all II Msc Mathematics
Students in collaboration with Nandi Foundation Mahindra
Pride from 5th to 11th December, 2018.
Department of Mathematics and Statistics Organized
a three Day training program on Arithmetic from 18th to
20th December, 2018 for all the final year Mathematics
Students . The Resource Persons were Mr. T.Seshagiri
Rao -Arithmetic skills Trainer , Mrs Sanvitha – Arithmetic
Basics. About 250 Students were benefitted through this
programme . The topics covered were as follows:

On December 1st the Cluster students of Mathematics
visited the construction work of polavaram project at
Polavaram. Dr.K.L Saraswathi Devi HOD and faculty ac-
companied them. All the students observed and learned
many aspects like Spillway foundation details, diaphragm
wall and Polavaram, Project Technical Details and projects
as well as benefits. Later they visited Pattiseema Project.
Mrs.D.Lumbini Devi, Department of Applied Sciences
with II and III year Science students visited National Insti-
tutes “CDFD, CCMB & JTEL” Hyderabad on 26th and
27th of December.2018.
The department of English (UG) organized am educa-
tional tour to Shimla, Chandigarh and Delhi from 24th to
31st December, 2018. 52 students from all degree sections
and 3 faculty members visited various sites of historical
and cultural interest and learned much about the various

MBC and MBCS combinations visited
Surya Bioproducts, Vatlur Industry
on 20th November, 2018 as a part of
Microbiology Cluster papers Biofertulizers and Biopesticides
study module and gained knowledge about various
techniques and processes. Ms.Ripsee accompanied the
students.
An Essay writing competition on “Energy saved is Energy
produced” and Poster painting Competition on the topic “Al-
ternate Energy sources for clean Environment” was orga-
nized on 18th December.

in Andhra Pradesh Economic Association Pre - Annual

11th December, 2018 organized by Hindu College of Man-

Academic Committee Meet:
The Academic Committee met on 11th December to come
to a consensus on the allocation of grace marks to candidates
who qualify in the university, Zonal, National and International
Level Competitions pertaining to games, Sports and NCC.
Members present were Dr. R. Madhavi, co-ordinator, Dr. G.
Jyothi, Dr. Celine Rose, Dr. Jyothi Kumari and Dr. Sharma.
Dr.R.Indira attended Institutional Ethical Committee
Meeting on 24th December, 2018 at ASRAM Medical Col-
lege, Eluru as a member of Ethical Committee nominated
by MCI. She inspected Animal House along with Veterinary
Doctors from Veterinary College, Gannavaram and Tirupati
and also Doctors from Pharmacology Department, ASRAM
College.
MANA TV Telecast:
Dr. R. Madhavi delivered a lecture on MANA TV on Goal
Setting, Smart Goals and Techniques to set smart Goals
for students of III, II and I degree students of Andhra
Pradesh. Her TV lesson was interesting and filled with
lively examples and illustrations.
Appreciation Award :Dr. D. Fatima Rani, Lecturer in English received
appreciation award from Mrs. P.Sujatha MLA and Sri. K.
Bhasker, District Collector of West Godavari on her
completion of 25 years in teaching profession on 23rd
December 2018.
Activities Block :World Aid’s Day:Youth Red Cross and Red Ribbon Club organized
World Aid’s Day on 1st December, 2018 at St. Theresa’s
College. Mr.Ramu Surya Rao MLC was the Chief guest
and Dr.Y.Prasad was the Key note speaker. Mr.R.S.R
spoke on how to inculcate good habits. He said that these
Good habits lead to Systematic life. Dr.Y.Prasad spoke
about various stages of AIDS, symptoms and measures
to be taken to overcome the situation . All the Red Ribbon
members expressed their solidarity for the millions of HIV
patients world wide by lighting the lamps in the form of
Red Ribbon. On this occasion of world AID’s day, members
of RRC and YRC joined in the rally organized at the Indoor
stadium.
NSS Programme officers Mrs. B.Mariamma and Mrs.
V. Sravanthi organized an awareness rally on AIDS on 1st
December, 2018 with 120 NSS volunteers.

Swachhmunch and Puraseva :
The Extracurricular activities in charge staff members
organized a special programme on “download & use “ the
apps like Swachhmunch and Puraseva for I and II year
students on 17th December 2018. The members of Seva-
NGO explained in detail about the importance of these
apps related to the role of youth in making clean and neat
society.
GRAMADHARSHINI PROGRAMME[YRC &RRC]
On27th and 28th December, 2018 Mrs.R. Chittemma Youth
Red Cross co-ordinator, Mrs.N. Bhavani and Mrs.Aruna
Jhansi YRC Nodel Officers and 50 YRC Volunteers went
to the Gramadharshini Programme at Sanivarapupeta
Village Panchayath, Eluru Mandal, West Godavari District.
Alumni Meet :
St. Theresa’s Degree College for Women organized Alumni
Meet on 8th December, 2018. About Fifty old students
participated in it from far and wide. Mrs. Nirmala Jyothi,
Zonal Manager, Andhra Bank was the Chief guest. After
lighting of the lamp, which respresents the presence of
God Sr. Lourdh Mary, the Correspondent and Dr. Sr. Mercy,
the Principal delivered their valuable messages.
NSS Youth Festival :
College NSS Co-ordinator Dr.M.Rama and Programme
officers Mrs.B.Mariamma, Mrs. R.Jagadeswari,
Mrs.V.Sravanthi and Mrs. G.Sunitha organized NSS Zonal
level as well as District level youth festivals on 7th and 8th
December, 2018 respectively at our College. The volunteers
stood first at University level NSS youth Festival organized
on 11th December at Malikipuram, East Godavari. University
level winners in Folk dance are D.Sravani, K.Pallavi,
M.HrudayaSamuka, T.Sarat Chandrika, Y.SanthiMounika
and M.Pujitha and poster painting D.Sai Sree participated
at State level NSS youth festivals organized at Acharya
Nagarjuna University on 13th and 14th December, 2018.
Dr.P.Ratna Mary Head of the department of social sci-
ences attended parents meeting at social welfare hostel
Number II (Sc &St) on 2nd December 2018, as a part of
community extension programme .She met the parents of
our students from social welfare hostel and discussed the
problems and solutions . The warden of social welfare
hostel appreciated the efforts of department members.
Community Extension Programmes :
Dr.Sr.Marietta D’Mello lecturer in Psychology from the
department of social sciences gave a talk on Women
Empowerment for better mental health to village women
organized by Bhimadolu Development Society at De Paul
college on 8th December . She also gave counseling to
some of the village women and also indicated certain
solutions to the problematic women .

Semi-Christmas was celebrated on 21st December, 2018
in Akarsh Club Department of Home Science. The colorful
day was made memorable with cultural programmes like
skit on “Birth of Jesus” and Carols.
Semi Christmas Celebrations :
Department of Zoology organized cultural events in Staff
Club Christmas Celebrations on 21st December, 2018.
Faculty below three years of experience from all the
departments participated in various cultural events like Skit
on Birth of Jesus Christ, Carols and group dances and so
on.
B.Voc Web Technology and Multimedia department cre-
ated a huge crib for Christmas and allowed various de-
partments to see the crib. By taking various reference im-
ages of palaces, students joined the best of it and devel-
oped a new palace in 3D Max Modelling. Later they devel-
oped the palace in reality using Thermocol sheets. They
added lighting to the palace to look like real palace. In
front of the palace they created the crib. The event helped
the I, II, III year students to learn joining the files in 3D
effect practically.

SATHE Annual Celebrations:
Students Association of Theresian Help and Extension,
service wing of commerce department organized a mini
exhibition of SATHE Self Help Group product as a part of
SATHE annul celebrations. Exhibition was inaugurated by
Dr.Sr.Mercy principal and heads of various departments
participated in the programme. Dr. Sr. Mercy, Principal
expressed that this is a tiny step towards prior to big
enterprises. She congratulated the SATHE members and
named this activity as Entrepreneurial Innovative
Incubation Cell of commerce department (EIICC). The
members exhibited 15 business ideas in the forms of units.
