Opportunities & Special Events

Christmas Cantata Come and join us tonight at 7:00pm for the Christmas Cantata! Please invite your family and friends to hear the choir sing about the birth of our Savior and to share the message of the one true Hope!

Christmas Eve Candlelight Service

FBC will hold our annual Christmas Eve Candlelight Service on Thursday, December 24th at 9:00pm. Come, bring your family, and worship with us in song and hear the beloved Christmas story.

FBC will be taking a team of up to 10 to Mountain Top Ministries in Haiti, March 4-11, 2016. If you have any interest in going or have questions, please see Misty Hunt as soon as possible. Deadline to join the trip and to pay the $100 reservation fee is January 4, 2016. We will be taking up a love offering on Sunday, January 10th to help those in need of assistance with the trip and to purchase supplies needed for the clinic.

* N e w Ye a r ’ s E v e P a r t y * Spend New Year’s in fellowship. On New Year’s Eve, there will be a gathering in the Ministry Center from 6:00pm until midnight. Board games for all and movies for the kids. Please bring finger foods or a dish to share.

Youth Group (Grades 6-12)! We will not be meeting tonight, but please come out at 7:00pm to watch the Christmas Cantata. There will be no Bible study this Wednesday the 23rd. Youth Group will meet on Wednesday, December 30th, for the lock-in. Remember, Sunday school starts at 9:00am in the Upper Room—and

Family Pastor Search Committee Please continue to keep the Family Pastor Search Committee lifted up in prayer as they continue the process of looking over applicants and conducting interviews. The committee members are: Ben Wetherington, Ben Wheaton,

Dusty Tryon, Anna Barcus, Alice Cox, & Patty Cunningham.

Lock-in time! This year's lock-in will be on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 starting at 8:00pm. Everyone who wishes to attend must have a signed permission slip completed by Sunday, December 27th. If we do not have a permission slip, you will not be able to attend. This year we will be

going to Skate World in Terre Haute. The lock-in will end on December 31, 2015 at 8:00am. If you would like to donate any snack items or chaperon, please see Dusty or Samantha.

Christian Resource Guide At the Welcome Center, there are copies of Christian Resource guides. This is a compilation of Christian websites, charities, television stations, radio stations, Christian Counselors, etc. Please feel free to take one for yourself and

a friend. We hope you find it helpful!

Sunday Night Activities Due to the Christmas Cantata, there will be no services or studies this evening. There will be no regularly scheduled evening services until the

beginning of January. Enjoy the holidays with friends & family!

Missions: All Around Us

NO Shelburn Community Kitchen

December 22nd & 29th There will not be Community Kitchen for the next

two Tuesdays (22nd & 29th). It’ll resume on Tuesday, January 5, 2016.

The Missions Committee will soon be meeting to allocate the missions budget for 2016. If you are aware of a mission organization or a missionary you'd like for them to consider, contact one of the Missions Committee members and let them know who, what, and

why as regards to that mission. Missions Committee members are Phil Whigham (chair), Melanie Bailey, Misty Hunt, Camil Catlin, Merrell McNeill and Beth Jennings. If you have a passion for our church's active participation in missions and would like to further that cause, why not check into serving on the Missions Committee in 2016?
