PRESIDENT'S NOTES
Hello Fellow Members -
December is upon us and the only remaining event for our club is the annual Christmas
Party and Dinner. As you may know, the club has chipped in for part of the cost for each
member as well as the gratuity, leaving the total cost per guest at $17.00. Really not bad
at all for food of this quality (and lots of it). Once again, we will collect new, unwrapped
toys for the CPS Kids and, of course, we will play HORSE for cool Ford & Mustang
related goodies.
The menu is Pecan Chicken with brandy sauce and/or Bacon Wrapped Chopped Sirloin
for the meat. Salad is Tossed Green Salad. Vegetable is Green Bean Almandine. Starch
is Baked Potato. The two deserts we voted on were the Pecan Pie and the Key Lime Pie.
Sounds like a good menu!
It's not too late to sign up! Just let Ronnie or Mike know you are coming and you can
pay at the door.
I'm sorry I had to miss the November meeting but was glad to hear we voted to raise our
Wayland scholarships to $1000 each. I'm very proud of the things our club has been able
to do through the years to help others in our community.
Remember, there will be no regular business meeting in December.
Mike's Thoughts
I second what John said about the party. For you new members (and there are a lot of you) please try to make this fun event. Besides the good food and fellowship, playing HORSE is great fun and we have some really cool Mustang stuff to give away. Thanks to all of you that came out for the St. Jude Hospital benefit. There were a couple of other benefits put on by other clubs also, and we were well represented there, too. It's a good feeling to be able to use our hobby for good causes, isn't it? We were at the TTU Formula SAE Show, too, and took home a lot of awards. We hope to bring back some fun cruises next year, so if you have an idea for a fun place to go for a day trip and dinner, let us know.
Remember, bring a new unwrapped toy to the Christmas Party
and, there will be no regular meeting in December.
(BTW - You may have noticed the Car of the Month for December is not a Mustang or even a Ford. Monty Conn is a member of our club and also the Events Director for the Caprock Classic Car Club. He has been a huge help to our club in more ways than I can count, and he is looking for a Mustang!)
Here's a few pics from the St. Jude event at Quick Quack Car Wash. The rest are on Facebook and will be on the site soon.
