THE NEW THEATRE “BAREFOOT IN THE PARK - WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 28, WEDNESDAY, APRIL 4, OR WEDNESDAY, APRIL 18 - Starring Cin-dy Williams and Eddie Mekka. Newlywed Corie wants everything about the new apartment to be perfect for her new husband Paul. But it has no furniture or heat, the sky-light lets in the snow, the paint job’s all wrong and the bed-room is too small for a bed. Just when things couldn’t get any worse, Corie’s mom and potential boyfriend show up. One of Neil Simon’s best comedies, BAREFOOT, received an Oscar nomination and four Tony nominations including Best Play. Cost: $47.00 includes transportation and dinner theatre. THE MERC - APRIL 12-13, 2018 - Ree Drummond, star of The Food Networks Pioneer Woman, opened the doors of The Mercantile in Pawhuska, Oklahoma last year. People were lined up around the block, and busi-ness hasn’t slowed down much since. The 25,000-square-foot building includes a retail store and deli (really a sit down restaurant) complete with grab-and-go coffee and goodies on the first floor and a coffee bar and bakery on the second. You will have time to shop and enjoy dinner made from the Pioneer Woman’s delicious recipes. You will also enjoy a visit to the Laura Ingalls Wilder Home-stead in Independence, Kansas, and tour the Frank Phil-lips home in Bartlesville. Cost: $250.00 includes motor-coach transportation, hotel accommodations, tours and three meals. Add $50.00 for single occupancy. A $50.00 deposit will hold space with final payment due March 2nd.

PELLA TULIP TIME FESTIVAL - MAY 3-4, 2018 - Travel with us to Boone, Iowa for a ride on the Boone & Scenic Valley Railroad and experience elegant dining on the rails as it was during the golden age of rail travel in the United States. This enchanting ride through the beau-tiful Des Moines River Valley features historic 1950's passenger cars. Later visit Reiman Gardens, featuring dis-tinct gardens both indoors and outdoors and a 2,500-square-foot Butterfly Wing. This year celebrates the 83rd Annual Tulip Time Festival in Pella, Iowa. You’ll enjoy a step on guided tour of Pella, then you’ll have time on your own to shop in their exquisite stores filled with imported goods, and bask in the sensational smells of the bakeries and meat markets as you purchase goods made from old-family recipes. Food stands fill side streets with food ranging from traditional Dutch to American. Demonstrations of Dutch Letter making and wooden shoe carving take place in the Historical Village. That after-noon you will take your reserved seats for the parade, which begins with street scrubbers with their buckets of water and brooms cleaning the streets for the many beau-tiful floats. The entire community gets involved in the celebration of their Heritage with costumes and wooden shoes.

These activities are held at the Gladstone Community Center, 6901 N. Holmes

Gladstone Seniors: Fourth Monday of each month, 10:30 a.m. business meeting followed by entertainment and potluck lunch-eon.

Cancer Action Workshop: 2nd & 4th Tuesdays of each month, 9:00 a.m. - Noon - Volunteers are needed!

Pinochle Club: Mondays at 12:30 p.m. (no partner needed)

Bridge: Tuesdays at 12:30 p.m. (no partner needed)

Gladstone Duplicate Bridge Club: Mondays at 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Partner required.

Hand & Foot: Mondays at 12:30 p.m.

Card Games of Choice: Tuesdays at 12:30 p.m.

White Elephant Bingo: Wednesdays - meet at a different res-taurant each week to enjoy lunch and BINGO! Bring two prizes worth $1-$2. Everyone will win twice.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

CANCER ACTION WORKSHOP - This group meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month from 9:00 - noon at the Gladstone Community Center. Their main goal is to make bed pads for cancer patients. There are many jobs to do and they don’t all involve sewing. Call 423-4086 for more information.

Cancellation Policy: A full refund will be issued in the event of a trip cancellation due to insufficient enrollment. Refunds are available up to the registration deadline. If a refund check is required, a $5 processing fee will be deducted. After registration deadline, a refund will be issued only if the participant can be re-placed. If participant desires, a credit will be issued for the entire amount for use in future programs.
