DECEMBER 2019 President’s Message As the year 2019 comes to a close, we are glad to inform you and share with you that it has been another incredible year of collaborative partnerships with you as members of this Chamber. Thank you for being one with us in the many activities that the Board has created with you in mind. Indeed, many good things happen and just fall into place in the course of sustaining and building better relationships with partners in the government sector, in particular, the Department of Health thru FDA. Similar things fruitfully happen in our collaborative works with DTI, DOST, BOI and other agencies of the government and NGO’s in the likes of PhilExport. Interesting to note too that even competing companies such as PLDT & Globe has come to work and build value together in full support of CCIP. And everyone knows about the support extended by INFORMA thru Philbeauty and by Global - Link by way of its Beauty & Wellness. These two are prestigious beauty exhibition platforms in the country today has brought our organization in the highest level possible, making the conduct of our year-round celebration of our 45 th Anniversary to be extra special. MR. EMIL L. VIRTUDES President Why extra special? Because of a free use of SMX space on top of the PROGRAMS lined up by BOT heads in-charge. I maybe wrong, but probably competitors find CCIP as a haven, a peace zone or a non-competing ground. And how can CCIP Board says no to radio & TV air time interview opportunities provided to CCIP at no cost at all by PTV 4? With the help from a travel agency partner, interview schedules did materialize and has further brought our association to beauty and ecotourism trips to Korea, Thailand and China, thus allowing us to involve a good of number of interested members from our roster. INFORMA’s global exhibition also did help in putting the name of CCIP across the global marketing and exhibition platforms. And this has further allowed opening the invitation doors from Taiwan Beauty Expo and various China Beauty and Wellness Exhibitions. More international doors has likewise opened up by way of trade associations and exhibition invitations from Japan, Malaysia, Hongkong, Dubai, Turkey and just lately, Belgium association has reached out to connect with us. With all these tireless effort of the Chamber, I am so thankful for the many faces that stood up for the good of the organization and have volunteered for free to contribute in so many ways: my two thumbs up to the 2018-2019 CCIP BOARD & its SECRETARIAT. Looking back, I would like to boldly state that this Chamber has reached what it needs to reach because we all have stepped onto the shoulders of our elders: the CCIP Leaders before us. (The last five years has posted an increase of about 40% growth rate in our membership). It goes without saying that the year 2020 promises a lot more opportunity for CCIP both locally and across the miles. And the biggest challenge to all of us is about how to seize it. Again, many good things happen merely by just building and sustaining good relationships. All these HIGHLIGHTS have contributed to making our two-year journey and the unforgettable stories attached to it, to be even more colorful and worth treasuring. I wish this organization much more significant success in the near future, as CCIP looks at the ASEAN and the rest of the world in the horizon with much excitement and enthusiasm. It has been an honour and my pleasure to serve this Chamber as your President. Thank you ALL for the opportunity as I leave this Chamber in good hands.

DECEMBER 2019

President’s Message

As the year 2019 comes to a close, we are glad to inform you and share with you that it has

been another incredible year of collaborative partnerships with you as members of this

Chamber. Thank you for being one with us in the many activities that the Board has created

with you in mind. Indeed, many good things happen and just fall into place in the course of

sustaining and building better relationships with partners in the government sector, in

particular, the Department of Health thru FDA. Similar things fruitfully happen in our

collaborative works with DTI, DOST, BOI and other agencies of the government and NGO’s in

the likes of PhilExport.

Interesting to note too that even competing companies such as PLDT & Globe has come to

work and build value together in full support of CCIP. And everyone knows about the

support extended by INFORMA thru Philbeauty and by Global - Link by way of its Beauty &

Wellness. These two are prestigious beauty exhibition platforms in the country today has

brought our organization in the highest level possible, making the conduct of our year-round

celebration of our 45th Anniversary to be extra special.

MR. EMIL L. VIRTUDES

President

Why extra special? Because of a free use of SMX space on top of the PROGRAMS lined up by BOT heads in-charge. I maybe

wrong, but probably competitors find CCIP as a haven, a peace zone or a non-competing ground.

And how can CCIP Board says no to radio & TV air time interview opportunities provided to CCIP at no cost at all by PTV 4?

With the help from a travel agency partner, interview schedules did materialize and has further brought our association to

beauty and ecotourism trips to Korea, Thailand and China, thus allowing us to involve a good of number of interested

members from our roster.

INFORMA’s global exhibition also did help in putting the name of CCIP across the global marketing and exhibition platforms.

And this has further allowed opening the invitation doors from Taiwan Beauty Expo and various China Beauty and Wellness

Exhibitions. More international doors has likewise opened up by way of trade associations and exhibition invitations from

Japan, Malaysia, Hongkong, Dubai, Turkey and just lately, Belgium association has reached out to connect with us.

With all these tireless effort of the Chamber, I am so thankful for the many faces that stood up for the good of the

organization and have volunteered for free to contribute in so many ways: my two thumbs up to the 2018-2019 CCIP BOARD

& its SECRETARIAT. Looking back, I would like to boldly state that this Chamber has reached what it needs to reach because

we all have stepped onto the shoulders of our elders: the CCIP Leaders before us. (The last five years has posted an increase

of about 40% growth rate in our membership).

It goes without saying that the year 2020 promises a lot more opportunity for CCIP both locally and across the miles. And the

biggest challenge to all of us is about how to seize it. Again, many good things happen merely by just building and sustaining

good relationships.

All these HIGHLIGHTS have contributed to making our two-year journey and the unforgettable stories attached to it, to be

even more colorful and worth treasuring. I wish this organization much more significant success in the near future, as CCIP

looks at the ASEAN and the rest of the world in the horizon with much excitement and enthusiasm.

It has been an honour and my pleasure to serve this Chamber as your President. Thank you ALL for the opportunity as I

leave this Chamber in good hands.

The Annual Election of the Board of Trustees was scheduled during the 4th General Membership Meeting but due

to the bad weather brought about by Typhoon “Tisoy”, more than half of the members were unable to attend and

vote in the election. The absence of quorum prompted the Election Committee represented by Gladys Marie C.

Conopio of DKSH Philippines Inc. and Anna Lynn C. Wong of Ashland Ingredients to explain the situation and

election rules. Thus, the members present unanimously adopted the following resolutions:

“RESOLVED, that the Chamber of Cosmetics Industry of the Philippines, Inc. (CCIP) shall proceed with the

intended election for the Board of Trustees for 2020-2021 by the usual manual casting of ballots for those physically present;

“RESOLVED further that those unable to come in person shall be allowed to cast their votes via email on December 4, 2019 and shall be considered valid upon verification by the Committee on Elections received on or before

12NN of December 6, 2019.

“RESOLVED, finally, that the Committee on Elections shall make the necessary amendments in its Election

Rules to affect the foregoing resolutions.

After collecting the emailed votes last December 6, 2019

(2PM), the Election Committee tallied the votes and declared

the newly elected members of the Board of Trustees whose

term is from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2021. They will

join the six (6) incumbent members who will be serving the

second year of their term to complete CCIP’s Board of Trustees.
