September 2016 Volume 9 Number 9

Bryce and Sherrie Holbrook live at the bottom of the loop and are the original owners of S-1. Bryce was born and raised in Lehi. He entered the military after high school and then served a mission in Sweden. Upon returning home he continued his education at BYU where he met Sherrie and they married one year later. Sherrie grew up in Orem, Draper, and Pleasant Grove.

The Holbrook's are parents of four children, with two son-in-law's, two daughter-in-law's, and 15 grandchil-dren. Erika, their oldest lives in Lehi and has four children. Alyson lives in Eagle, Idaho and has four children as well. Casey moved back to Lehi from Illinois two years ago and is living in Bryce and Sherrie’s family home with his three children, and Devin recently moved from Texas to Lehi with his four children. The Holbrook’s are extremely excited to have their children and grandchildren living near by after being split across the country for many years.

Bryce worked for 36 years as a junior high school principal and District Director for Granite School District. He simultaneously served in the Army Reserves for 42 years. He was an LDS Chaplain for 28 years, retiring as a full-bird colonel. Bryce has served in many church callings and he found being the bishop of a young single adult ward most satisfying and fun! In his spare time he likes to ride four wheelers and work around the yard (which doesn’t happen here at the Villas).

Sherrie spent her early years as wife, mother, and homemaker. When their kids were teenagers, she went to work for Alpine School District. She taught elementary school for eight years at Sego Lily Elementary and then became an elementary school principal at two schools for eleven years. In her free

time she likes to spend time with the family and enjoys being “Grandma”! She loves to cook, sew, and has started to be self-taught on how to quilt.

The Holbrook's recently re-turned home from a 23 month LDS mission in Tonga. They served as adjunct professors for BYU-Hawaii as “International Teacher Education Program” missionaries. They worked at

the church schools teaching teachers so they could obtain a teaching certificate. They also helped teachers with their online courses so they could obtain an Elementary Education Bachelor’s Degree from BYU-Hawaii. In fact the Holbrook's just returned from BYU-Hawaii’s fall graduation where eight Tongan teachers graduated with their degrees! The Holbrook's will cherish these 23 months forever and indeed the Tongan people have changed their lives forever. Now they are living here at the Willow Park Leisure Villas and are impressed with this wonderful community.
