Again this year we are going to be partnering with the water4 foundation to save lives
for Christmas by providing clean drinking water for thousands of people in remote parts
of the world. To get involved in this life giving project all you have to do is to give a
generous one time gift during our offering at the Christmas Eve Service. Please join us
as we continue to cause heaven to come crashing into earth around the world. For more

Save the Date!
The Bell Choir and Choir will be hosting what
promises to be a very fun evening for Valen-
tine’s Day in February! We plan to have both
dinner and a show for you! On Sunday evening,
February 14th, we will be serving a dinner and
having a talent show. You are an important part
of this. Not only will you be able to go out for a
lovely dinner on Valentine’s Day, you are invited
to participate in the talent show. Everyone
start practicing now - polish up your tap shoes,
work on learning lines to your skit, warm up
those rusty vocal chords, pull out that talent
that you have hidden deep inside yourself. No
prizes will be given, but we promise to love and
appreciate your talent offerings! Plan now to
join us for an evening of big fun with your
friends! More details and sign up opportunities
will be coming later. All proceeds for the eve-
ning will be used to help pay for new hymnals
for the church. If you have questions, please
contact Mary Hunter.
Lane and LaDonna Moore are proud to
announce the birth of their new grandson,
Cal David Miller. Cal was born on November
16, 2015, at 8:41 am to David and Aubree
Miller of Nashville, Tennessee. Cal weighed
6 lbs. 11 oz. and was 18 inches long. Sib-
lings Beau and Macey welcomed Cal into the
world.
Please give a warm
welcome to Dustin and
Melissa Swanson who joined
our church in November.
We’re glad to have you!

Thank you to everyone that participated
in the shoeboxes for
Operation Christmas Child.
We had another amazing year. We were
able to pack and ship 157 boxes!
Thank you very much for your support!
For Advent this year, our sermon series
is going to be about getting beyond all of
the “warm and fuzzy” that Christmas
brings, so that we can experience the
scandalous events that changed the world
forever when Christ was born.
Join us on Sunday, December 13th, at
the 10:20 am service.
The choir will be presenting
“Breath of Heaven.”
The songs and narration will give a
fresh perspective of Christmas
by taking a closer look at the
compassionate heart of Mary.

Shared with First Christian Church from the Kansas Wesleyan University Contact, Fall 2015:
Bray Establishes Endowed Nursing Scholarship
Joyce Bray, a 1967 graduate of the Asbury School of Nursing, who took pre-nursing courses at
Kansas Wesleyan University in 1964, passed away on March 28, 2015, but her legacy will continue
to make an impact on future Nursing students. She established an endowed scholarship for Nurs-
ing that will provide approximately $12,000 a year to recruit and maintain quality students in the
Nursing Education Program.
Bray, a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, was a critical care nurse in
the coronary unit at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.
“This is a tribute to Joyce’s caring spirit and generosity”, said Bill Grevas, Vice-President of Insti-
tutional Advancement. “She was an incredible person, and this gift not only honors her life as a
nurse, it strengthens the university’s commitment to the Nursing program.”
