LAS Executive Meeting The November executive meeting was held at the home of Sharon and Steve MacDonald. Thank you to everyone who attended. Ron Bishop indicated that he as in the process of confirming our speaker for the January meeting. This will be Brian and Susan Glazier speaking on Killie Fish. So if you are breeding these fish or are just interested in knowing about their habits or are looking to begin keeping these fish, now is the time to get those questions together. Since moving to our new location at JPII, due to its vastness, we may need to invest in a microphone and amplifier. Ron will investigate and get back with prices, etc. before moving ahead. Don’t forget everyone, the December meeting is also our holiday celebration time. Bring out the goodies and enjoy some holiday cheer!

President’s Message We had a guest speaker last month. Catherine Salmon was here to talk about Bettas. She had a great knowledge on Bettas and I found her talk very interesting. We have another guest speaker lined up for the start of the year. We have Brian and Susan Glazier coming to talk on Killie Fish. There have been a few entries for the picture on the 2009 membership card those who are interested get information on the forum.

The annual Christmas Pot Luck Meal will be in full motion for the December meeting. We always have a great variety of hot food and desserts at this occasion. Everybody

brings out their special goodies and we are all told that all the calories have been taken out so we can all enjoy. For all members that are in attendance there will be a special draw for a 55 gallon aquarium. It comes with the canopy, heater, outside filter and other required pieces of equipment. Good luck to all that will be there.

We have contact with a person from the Toronto Zoo for a field trip for club members later on. Maybe in June depending on when we can get everything to fall into place. Plans are under way. Also we have been in contact with a local company to get some quotes for new shirts with the club info on them. More information to follow.

The auction and fish show for November had lots of entries and lots of auction items on the tables. Good work. There will be no jar show for this month. The auction will be there as always.

I have heard a lot of good comments from the advertisers that they are seeing London Aquaria Society cards lot more this year and that makes them happy to see they are getting the support from the members, so don’t be afraid to show that card and also introduce yourself to the shop owners.

See their ads in the bulletin.

Have yourself a Merry Christmas and all the best in the New Year!

Twas the Night Before Christmas

'Twas the night before Christmas and Santa was coming, The fish were excited, one even was humming,

The fry were all snuggled in watery beds... While visions of brine shrimp swam in their heads; The Cabomba was trimmed and sparkled just right, The Neons of course provided the light; The colourful ornaments - green,

red and gold Green swordtails, red platys and goldfish we're told; A big silver angel graced the top of the tree, It was the prettiest "Fishmas Tree" that ever would be. And then on the tank top there rose such a

clatter... The Fish swam 'round to see just what was the matter, Someone was coming, they could tell by the sound Then down the filter tube Santa came with a bound! The stem of a snorkel he held in his teeth,

And the bubbles encircled his head like a wreath, In his furry wet suit he swam to the tree, And opened his bag for the fishes to see; A new woody log for the fry to

play tag, Was the very first gift he pulled from his bag! Cans of flake food were next - some brine shrimp and

some squid And a bubbling treasure chest, with a fluttering lid New coloured gravel, a large piece of

slate, It was obvious now that the Angels would mate! Santa hadn't forgotten them..he'd filled every wish,

He'd remembered every item for each one of the fish. Then laying a finger aside his air hose, And giving a nod, up the tube he arose; And they heard him exclaim as he hopped in his sled... Maybe next year I'll bring them a

fifty-five gallon instead.
