From our pastors We are excited to share with you information regarding our annual Christmas Offering that begins December 11 and continues through December 31.

At Vertical Church, we are passionate about pointing those far from God to life in Jesus. While there are lots of great causes, especially at this time of year, we make no apologies about our belief that the local church is of the utmost importance. For the last several years, we’ve asked you to prayerfully consider giving above and beyond your normal giving to our annual Christmas Offering. It’s not a plea for more money, but rather a prayer for God to use us to do more together than any one of us could do alone.

Over the last several months, we have seen our church grow as we give the people of South Hampton Roads the best opportunity to receive life in Jesus. In fact, our October 2016 average was 15% higher than ANY monthly average over the last five years!

We hope you will read over the information in this brochure to learn more about “Spaces and Places” and prayerfully consider what God would have you give, over and above your regular giving. God has given us a great mission. Let’s take our next step in pursuing it together!

What’s the difference between regular giving and this special offering? Regular giving is a normal outflow of our commitment to Jesus and our local church given throughout the year. The Christmas Offering is an opportunity to go above and beyond that; it is one of those special occasions that stretch us to grow our faith.

How much should I give? The amount you give is between you and God. Some are able to give more than others. The issue is not equal amounts, but equal sacrifice. What amount can you give that will stretch your faith?

When should I give? The Christmas Offering begins December 11, and you can give any time after that until 11:59pm on December 31.

Can I give online to the Christmas Offering? Absolutely! Online giving is a safe, secure, and really easy option to give your Christmas offering. Just go to vcgive.tv to get started.

How will I know if we reach our goal?

We love to celebrate what God is doing through you in our church. You will be updated on our giving progress during the Sunday worship experience and online via social media.

SPACES & PLACES expanding the vision

what is spaces & places? Spaces & Places is our 2016 Christmas Offering. Each of the last 5 years, we have received a special offering at the end of the year for a variety of projects and outreach efforts. As a new year quickly approaches, we want to be as ready as we can be for all that God has in store for Vertical Church in 2017. Our goal for this year’s Christmas Offering is $13,750.00.

Gifts to Spaces and Places will be used to provide additional worship experience opportunities (such as Team Night), improvements to our current spaces, and the exploration of a future “place” for Vertical Church. It is an offering focused on expanding our vision and current ministry. In addition, 10% of our Spaces and Places offering will go towards outreach efforts outside of our local church.

Gifts to Spaces & Places are encouraged to be above and beyond your regular giving.

So how does it work? Beginning December 11 through the end of 2016, we are asking you to bring your Spaces & Places offering to one of our worship experiences or give online at vcgive.tv. We are encouraging everyone who believes in the vision of Vertical Church to prepare an offering. While Spaces & Places will continue, this special offering isn’t a year long commitment. It is a serious, audacious, one shot offering of generosity! We can’t wait to see what God will do through us as we get ready to head into the next chapter of our church.

spaces & places sounds bigger than a one time offering. Is it? In short, yes. This Christmas Offering is the official launch of our Spaces and Places fund. This new fund will fall under the oversight of our Directional Leadership Team. Vertical Church is a life-giving church where change and growth happen in people’s lives. Your giving allows us to create spaces and places God can use to dramatically change lives. It helps to fuel God’s work in Vertical Church.

This sounds great, but what

exactly does the spaces and places

fund support? When Jesus changes a life dramatically, people take notice. And when it happens to person after person, a movement of God takes place.

Is this a building fund? Is Vertical Church getting a facility? Regal Cinemas Greenbrier has served us tremendously, and we are content with remaining at the theater until God opens another opportunity. We are not currently in the financial position to lease/own our own facility. However, we hope this offering will open the door for us to begin exploring those kind of options.
