new centre décor

We caught up with the busiest man of the season at Santa’s Winter Wonderland,a new, magical place for children to meet Santa, and whisper their dreams in his ear.“I listen to the children’s dreams…and it’s a privilege,” says Santa, who remembered the most fun wish he ever received.“Ho! Ho! Ho! Why, it was the child who asked for a ride on my sleigh!” Santa recalled.“I promised if we stopped by and they were still awake, I would see what I could do! Ho! Ho! Ho!”Santa needs a license to drive his sleigh (his driver’s license says he was born onDecember 6, 343) and riding in the sleigh is a treat for his 743 elves working hard up at the North Pole. Every year, Santa chooses a handful of lucky elves to join him on his visit to Guildford.“Everyone wants to go to Guildford!” says Santa, who brought down nine elveswith him.How did he choose which elves to bring, and does he have a favourite?“Why, they’re all my favourites!” Santa said, with a twinkle in his eye.So how does Santa get all around the world in one night?“Well, I start in the earliest time zone, but it’s a little bit of magic. I work with thespace-time continuum, so it just seems like I’m in six places at once, but I’m really not. I use magic, and I have little caches of toys all over the world, so I don’t have to go back to the North Pole on Christmas Eve.”Why does he do it?“It’s fun! You always do things that are fun. You should never do anything that youdon’t feel good about.”And with the blink of an eye, he was gone… back to his seat to talk to the children. For a complete schedule of Santa’s visiting hours, go to GuildfordTownCentre.com

new centre décor

New technology revealed!

It’s an integrated and exciting new Guildford Town Centre complete with the kind of technology that’s designed to contribute to the ultimate shopping experience.

Come and try out three exciting new changes at Guildford:

1. Five ViCCi (Virtual Customer Care Interface) interactive directory boards were installed throughout the centre, making it easy to fi nd your favourite stores or destination. On the upper level you’ll fi nd the virtual customer interface boards beside London Drugs and between The Bay and Garage; on the lower level, ViCCi is between Kin’s Farm Market and CIBC, between Payless Shoes and Pinstripes and near the Food Court escalators. Seven more will be introduced in 2013.

2. Download our ViCCi phone app onto your iPhone, Android or Blackberry. Simply hold your phone up to the QR code on the ViCCi directory board, and let the download begin.

3. Meet WANDA, our new Washroom Attendant and Digital Advertising network. WANDA technology is a touch screen mounted at the entrance of the washrooms, which allows customers to instantly notify our teams of any issues, including emergencies. Find WANDA in the washrooms near the new SHAW store and Moka House. In 2013, three more WANDA’s will be introduced.

Not sure how to use our new technology? Just ask any member of our team to get you started.

Share in the holiday spirit and season of giving by helping local children andteenagers have a Merry Christmas. Guildford Town Centre is pleased to be collecting toys for the Surrey Christmas Bureau and you can help. Just bring your unwrapped, new toy or gift (don’t forget the older children) to the toy collection binlocated on the upper level by Old Navy. Donations accepted until December 23.
