• Organizational Transformation:
o Conducted a systematic assessment of the Academic Affairs and designed a
comprehensive reorganizational plan that aligned with institutional vision,
goals, and objectives.
o Designed a new Accreditation Model for Success that led to 3 program re-
affirmation without conditions.
o Designed and implemented a new inclusive budget model process that
included a team approach within and across the various areas in Academic
Affairs.
o Created a classroom renovation committee charged with assessing all
classrooms and overseeing renovations aligned with teaching styles that
encourage collaborative learning using Eye2Eye, Tiered Collaborative,
6Round, and Flipped classroom style layouts. Six classrooms were
renovated and ready for utilization in Fall 2019.
o Created a faculty and staff professional development program that
supported curriculum assessment and redesign, learning communities, high-

I had the primary oversight of UTSA’s graduate education that spans across seven
academic colleges, over 120 graduate degree and certificate programs, and approximately
4,500 graduate students. I was UTSA’s representative to the Graduate Education
Advisory Committee with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.

• Organizational Transformation:
o Successfully reorganized the Graduate School.
o Hired new staff to reflect the organizational redesign and support of new
efforts related to diverse and inclusive admissions, recruitment, student
engagement, student success, marketing and fiscal management.
o Increased graduate student enrollment by approximately 8% following the
organizational transformation.
o Successfully integrated a Customer Relation Management (CRM) approach
that interconnected all of the newly-defined teams to automate processes

Conducted a cross-cultural analysis of the SOS Village in Togo, West
Africa. The study provided an insight into how societal and cultural
norms impact the delivery of services to children in a permanent
foster care setting.

Conducted preliminary interviews with women in polygamous
marriages in Togo, Guinea, Senegal and Ghana. The interviews were
used to assess the cultural, economic, emotional, and physical abuse

ADVANCE Program—Advancing Diversity through the Alignment of
Policies and Practice (ADAPP) with Kim Wilcox, Provost and
Principal Investigator, for $3.98 million over a five-year period. As
the College’s FEA, I designed its mentoring action research plan to
assess mentor programs in two of our departments while working with
the full FEA team in the College. I also wrote the College’s mentor
policy and reviewed, provided feedback and approved mentor plans
from each unit in the College. Worked to ensure equity during
reappointment, promotion and tenure through a process that included
an assessment of cases with the Dean and the Associate Dean for
Research in the College. I organized events in support of the various
entities of the grant and faculty professional development aspects to
ensure faculty success. Prepared the quarterly and annual College
report for submission to NSF.
