Term 3 Value focus: HONESTY AND TRUTHFULNESS
Love expressed through Honesty and Truthfulness – A willingness
not to steal, cheat, lie, or be unfair
Psalm 25:4-5 Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your
paths; 5 guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my
Saviour, and my hope is in you all day long.
A big welcome to our new student, Kayleigh Blair, who commenced in the Junior Class as new entrant student on
Monday 21 August 2017.
Persuasive
Writing (Room 5)
Room 5 were
asked to
persuade Mrs
Bennington to
make Instant
Banana Ice-cream. They were very persuasive and it was made
yesterday.
“Firstly, bananas are gross but banana ice-cream is tasty.
Ice-cream is a good way to get healthy because if you eat banana
ice-cream there are bananas in the ice-cream. Mrs Bennington
should make us ice-cream because it’s tasty and
good for us, it’s easy to make, we will learn skills,
and it will cool us down”
Grace Lee (Year 2)
Andrea McDowell, Schools Partnership Manager from World
Vision, came to school on Monday to thank the students for
their efforts in raising money to help children in need.
We have been glad to have warmer and drier weather lately! Our students love being more active and being able to utilise the outdoor play options. On Wednesday 13 September we are taking the whole school to Puketeraki Marae at Karitane. At the marae we will experience a powhiri (official welcome). We are learning three waiata (songs) and are all practising our individual pepeha (family story) to share at the powhiri. We are blessed to have Dean Fraser speaking (kaikorero) on our behalf. Parents are welcome to attend and will be able to indicate this intention on a form requesting parent help. We are organising a bus and parent cars to transport the students. It will be a special opportunity for us as a school community. Serving Christ together Ngā mihi nui Fiona Sizemore Principal

Liberton Christian School now has 100 students on our school roll. This is a wonderful milestone for us to celebrate. We give thanks to God for His blessings and provision for us. We continue to ask God to help us as a school as we seek to have our Special Character impact all our students so they are learning with enthusiasm, growing in knowledge, developing abilities and desiring to serve God.

Badminton season has commenced with games played on Tuesdays after school. Mrs Bennington is the coach.
Rippa Rugby notices have been sent out. We hope to register teams next month.
Peanut and Tree Nut Free School We are a completely nut free school. This is to ensure all of our students are safe from potentially severe allergic reaction. This means no peanuts or tree nuts (or products) can be included in school lunch boxes or treats brought to school.
POP in and PRAY Tuesday mornings 9.00am – 9.20am in the staffroom
Whether you can give ten or twenty minutes, come and join us as we pray for our school as it seeks to live out its vision in our community and for the kids, families and staff that are part of it. We are very grateful to all those who uphold the school in prayer.

Stationery Please check that your child has two good quality HB pencils, a white rubber and a glue stick. Good quality HB pencils ($1) and glue sticks ($2) are available at the school office. School parking Please do not park on the yellow lines at the school gate as this can cause a hazard for our local Students who need to cross the road safely and walk home.
