Dear Parents,

It has been a very busy term at agape Sengkang. There were many activities, celebrations and achievements to share with.Celebrating special occasions such as Mother’s Day and Father’s Day is something that both teachers and children look forward. It’s a time to reflect and say “Thank you” to our parents on their love and care. To appreciate the parent’s effort, the children enjoy baking Tiramisu, making special craft and writing a love message to their parents. I hope the Tiramisu is delicious! Thank you Aiden Chew mummy for the Tiramisu demonstration with the children. Research has shown that children whose parents are actively involved in partnership with the school has made greater progress in learning compared to children whose parents did not participate. Thus, we have introduced little home projects such as “Bring a Pet Home” and “I love you Daddy”. I’m sure your child would be happy to bring the tiny pet home and have an enjoyable conversation with you on how to take care of the pet.

To further strengthen our partnership with parents, we would like you to join our “Parental Volunteer Club”. I hope to receive a warm response from you.

Term 2 is finally over! We had lots of fun learning about different types of animals at

the zoo through the story “I Was At The Zoo”. We learnt more about the elephants. Do you know that they like peanuts treat?

We even get to paint two elephants in pink! Hopefully Term 3 is much fun than this!

各位家长你们好。在第二学期我们首先让孩子们了解生鸡蛋和熟鸡蛋的区别，从故事《小鸡找妈妈》中了解鸡的外型特征。利用手工来加深对鸡的了解。故事《小黑鱼》让幼儿了解到小朋友们要互相团结，互相友爱。而手工染，贴。鱼，章鱼，海龟更锻练了幼儿的小肌肉发展。

have learnt more about the zoo through the book ‘I was at the zoo,’ We learnt about the different type of animals such as elephants, lions, giraffe and etc! We found out about their habitat, their diets and what they love to do. Through the story, we found out that the zookeepers are the ones who took care of the animals in the zoo. We learnt two important values from the zookeepers which is; responsibility and love. We definitely had a great fun in Term 2 & hope to visit the zoo!

Term 2 has come to its end. Its been a nice and wonderful learning journey with family, friends and teachers. We have learned in different ways this term 2 through home visitation when we visited Ms. Yee and Jhamru’s house in line with our term 2 story based GOLDILOCKS AND THE THREE BEARS, peer tutoring in reading our readers’ book, show and tell to boost our confidence and be more comfortable in presenting in front of the crowd, web mapping and brain storming to expand the knowledge that we grasp during lesson discussion. We can proudly say that we really are LEARNING, IMPROVING and PROGRESSING in our own different ways!

亲爱的爸爸妈妈 : 你们好，我们在第二学期里学习的主题是《动物与我》，认识了家禽动物及海洋生物。通过故事《有礼貌的小螃蟹》，我们知道什么是有礼貌的行为，要如何去对待身边的人。魏老师让我们知道了海洋动物的外形特征。并告诉我们海洋中最大的动物是鲸鱼。当讨论那些是有壳的海洋生物时，由于我们对生活经验的不足，有时会认为虾是没有壳的，其实不然。当老师问我们什么是海洋动物时，我们说是住在海里的动物。 因此，我们绘画了海洋生物，其中包括（海龟、小黄鱼、鲨鱼、海豚、海马、鲸鱼等）。

Term 2 has ended in the blink of an eye! We touched on the storybased titled: The boy who cried wolf. In

this story, the children learnt the value on ‘Honesty’. The children know that once a lie is being told, no one

would believe them again. We celebrated a few festivals like Mother’s Day. We had so much fun preparing crafts and food for Mummy! We also

celebrated Easter day by making bunny crafts and egg salad. Not forgetting our Healthy Eating week! We

went to cold storage to learn on healthy eating. Do you know that the pyramid logo means that the food choice is healthier? Term 2 has been a fun and

enjoyable Term and we look forward to more learning in Term 3!
