Dear Parents & Grandparents, Since we are unable to do in-person children’s ministry at this time, our Children’s Ministry Team has been working on some things to help your children continue to learn about and worship the Lord with you at home. Each week we will post a packet that includes a number of Bible based learning activities that you can do as a family. October’s theme is Love Your Neighbor. We are not expecting you to do all the activities. Please chose the activities and discussion questions that are appropriate for your child’s age and interests. We are asking that every family take time to read and discuss the Bible passage as well as pray together each week. We believe this is an essential part of raising our children to be disciples of Jesus. We are happy to answer any questions or help in any way we can. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher or the church office if we can help. Feel free to send us questions, photos, comments, and prayer requests. Know that we miss teaching your children each week. We are praying for your children and your family. Blessings! In Christ, The Children’s Ministry Team of FPCD

Dear Parents & Grandparents,

Since we are unable to do in-person children’s ministry at this time, our Children’s Ministry Team has been working on some things to help your children continue to learn about and worship the Lord with you at home.

Blessings!

In Christ,

The Children’s Ministry Team of FPCD

Read Matthew 22:34-40 as a family.

Questions for Discussion: Who gave us the two greatest commandments? (Who is talking?) (v. 37)

What are the 2 commandments? (v. 37-39)

Verse 37 tells us we are to love God with 3 things, what are they?

Can you think of some ways we can love God this week?

What does it mean to love your neighbor as yourself?

Can you think of some ways we can love our neighbors this week?

In verse 40 Jesus tells us that all the things that the Bible teaches us start with loving God and loving others. Can you think of some Bible stories or verses that teach us to love God? What are some that teach us to love others?

Take some time to pray as a family. Start by telling God how much you love Him and why. Continue praying and ask God to show you how to love others and to help you do it. Pray that He will bring people your way this week who need to experience God’s love through you. Continue praying however you feel led.

Create a list of ways you can love God and a list of how you can love others. Your list can be simple or you can make it very creative with colors and pictures if you like. You can use the attached handout or you can use your own materials. Commit to one way you will show God you love Him this week and one way you will love your neighbor this week.
