Dear Parent/Guardian
Instrumental music lessons will again be available at Xavier High School in 2021.Xavier High School collaborates with instrumental teachers of music providingstudents with the opportunity for private lessons within school hours. If there are notsufficient numbers of students for a particular instrument, arrangements can often bemade to seek tutoring outside of school hours.
The attached list gives details of our instrumental teachers and relevant fees. Pleasenote that shared lessons can be arranged with individual tutors at a reduced fee perstudent. Each teacher will supply prospective students with information regarding themethod and timing of payment of fees which are paid directly to the teacher orMurray Conservatorium, not the school office.
Instrumental lessons are rostered at a set time each week. In view of our current 10day timetable arrangements, it is the responsibility of the student to catch up on anyschool work missed due to instrumental lessons and failure to do this can result in theschool cancelling a student’s instrumental lessons. Please advise if you would prefera lesson at lunch, recess, before or after school and the teacher will do their best toaccommodate your request.
There is some possibility for instrumental students to use school brass, woodwindand string instruments for lessons and home practice but the availability of theseinstruments varies according to the needs of the classroom music students. Furtherinformation on the use of specific school instruments is available from Mrs Files or MrSweeney.
If you require any further information regarding instrumental lessons please feel freeto contact us at school.
Yours Sincerely
