Dear Friends,
The ship was about to capsize because of a storm. The
captain of the ship quickly announced, "Is there any one who
knows how to pray ?" A pastor walked forward and said, “I
know”. The captain said, “Good , you keep praying while
others wear their life jackets and jump into the sea. We are
one short of a life jacket”. Prayer is good but prayer must be
followed by action. Very often we find that it is easier to pray
than to act. There are two sides to this.
1. People pray while they are on the job.
2. People pray before they launch out.
Prayer is not a passive exercise; it is an active interaction
between the Lord and you. I believe that he who is strong on
his knees before God will always be strong on his feet
before people. In this edition, you will read the life
transforming stories of people whose lives were impacted by
the gospel through the radio, the speaker boxes and the
internet etc. Some places are difficult for us to reach
physically; in some places there is opposition, and some
places are hard to reach with the gospel. In spite of the
difficulties, in all these places the Lord has raised people
who believe in His name.
At times we get discouraged to hear and read that it is not
going to be easy for us to proclaim the gospel with freedom in
our country. Times like these are important for us to look up
and draw strength.
I am sure you will be encouraged to read the stories of such
people whom the Lord touched through the media. You will
be thrilled to know that your giving helps us immensely to
usher people into heaven. India needs the gospel.
Thank you for being our partner.
Blessings
Benjamin C.A.National Director

TRAVELOTHON FOR LISTENERS
team
A of six members travelled through different places in North Karnataka with the
sole aim of meeting our Kannada listeners and strengthen bonds of friendship with
them. Besides, we wished to know if our programmes are making the expected
impact on our audience. The 3-day travelothon began from Tumkur, through Chitradurga,
Davangere, Haveri, Hubli and culminated at Belgaum. We met with our listeners at their
convenience at tea stalls, pavements, public parks, outside temples and at their homes. Our
team shared God's love with these listeners and prayed with them. At the same time, it was
very heart warming to listen to their motivational stories of how our programmes were
helpful to them.
Gangamma, a social worker travelled 40 km to reach Davangere and says “Nade Nudi
programme deals with sensitive but relevant social issues and helps the listener change
his/her life style”. She has requested our Nade Nudi team to visit them during their Blood
Donation Camp and conduct a social programme for their people.
At the end of the travel, about sixty listeners at Alakanur, Raibagh district gathered near a
temple. The FEBA team presented a skit on the parable of The Prodigal Son. The people
were interested to hear about God's love for us and His willingness to forgive us no matter
what we have done. In turn we as a team were warmed by their love for us and were inspired
to make the Nade Nudi programme more application oriented. In the crowd were two of our
listeners Ravi and his sister Shobha who are visually impaired. Earlier we had sent them the
Gospel to read. They enjoy reading the Word and in spite of rejection they remain steadfast
in the love of God.
Rekha and her mother Gowramma (names changed) were baptized at the Good Shepherd
Church, Ranebennur in the presence of Rev. Suresh who helped us in making the church
available for the occasion. Rekha is physically challenged with osteoarthritis but has a
strong faith that Jesus will do a miracle in her life and that the villagers will come to
experience the transforming power of our Risen Lord.
Each story of life transformation is a gem of inspiration for us at FEBA India. We pray that in
the coming days God's love and the truth of Jesus will reach all corners of Karnataka
through Nade Nudi, a value based programme.
Mr. B.V. Giri, Programme Manager for Tamil Nadu has completed 15 years of service in FEBA, Bangalore. We acknowledge and appreciate his faithful service and pray that the Lord will empower him to serve Him faithfully in the days to come.
Mr. Shantharaj retired from service in November 2015 after serving the Lord in
the Administration Department for 30 years, since 1985. FEBA appreciates his faithful tenure with us. FEBA India wishes him a happy retired life.
GOSPEL PROJECT - THE HARVEST IS HERE
There is a great need for the Word of God to reach the Hadothi speaking peoples group in
Rajasthan. The Speaker Box is an excellent tool to evangelize and disciple the Hadothis.
The Lord enabled us to distribute 21 Speaker Boxes containing 10 audio drama episodes on
the life of Christ and St. Mark's Gospel in
their heart language, on the 19th and the
20th of March 2016.
It is indeed a joy to see the Speaker Boxes
being received with eagerness. We thank
the Indian Evangelical Mission for their
partnership with us.
TABLE TALK- A SNAP SHOT OF EVELYN RAJKUMAR BY KENNETH EDWARD
KE :How did you get started here? What was your experience listening to the Radio?
ER: On 2nd February 1984, I started my journey with FEBA-India. Bro. V S Nainan asked me to join FEBA, just for a few days to fill in a leave vacancy. Later Bro K C Mammen encouraged me and wanted me to work in the Accounts department.
I was born and brought up in Nanded, Maharashtra. In 1970's, we as a family enjoyed listening to Tamil programmes on FEBA Radio. We listened to programmes such as Satya Vasanam, Vanoli Mama, Paripoorna Jeevan by Babu and Raju, Jesus Calls and many others. These programmes helped us grow spiritually and we were happy to listen to such programmes in our own mother tongue in a place where we missed conversing in Tamil.
When I was 10 yrs old, I would wait to listen to Vanoli Mama programme and would note down the stories in my note-book. These stories were gems of inspiration which helped me live as an example among my classmates. Even after 45 years, I still remember these stories
KE: How and why did you join FEBA?
ER: When I was young, my plan was to work only for a bank but God had other plans for me. God had provided me a job in FEBA as He had promised, without even applying, in a miraculous way by creating a vacancy for me to step in. God has chosen me in spite of my limitations.
After joining FEBA, opportunities came up for me to work in banks and other institutions. But I did not want to change my job just for financial benefits. I believed that God blesses even the little we have, just as He had blessed the five loaves and two fish. Similarly I enjoy God's abundant grace and blessings in my life.
KE: What is the most exciting part of your job?
ER: The most exciting part is to see God's faithfulness in providing for the needs of FEBA in a miraculous way. When times are hard and things seem very uncertain, God opens a way and provides for our needs at the right time, in the most surprising ways. As I worked in the finance department from the beginning, I enjoyed God as 'Jehovah Jireh'. God is mindful of even the least things in our lives. I thank God for His faithfulness in leading and blessing this ministry. EVELYN RAJKUMAR
KE: In a fast changing world how does FEBA make a difference?
ER: God never changes in this changing world. He leads FEBA and He is at work changing the lives of our listeners. In this fast changing world our programmes on the Radio, the Speaker Boxes, and the FEBA website are effective and meet the listeners at the point of their need.
Lastly, I thank God for the opportunity He has given me to work with FEBA. There are no mistakes in the Kingdom of God. He provided the right job for me and I enjoyed working in the Finance Dept for the last 32 years. I give all glory and praise to our Almighty God.

I am a carpenter and my brother is a
goldsmith. We enjoy listening to the radio
while we work. Your programmes have
attracted our attention a lot, as they are
different from the others on the radio. We
have applied many of the valuable
lessons you have taught on inner
healing, anger management and
forgiveness. Your correspondence team
has kept in touch with us and invited us to
a Listeners' Meeting, which we were glad
to attend though we had to take a day off
from our work.

Three years after my

world of mere sound
and touch. As a result,
the radio became my
only contact with the world outside. I tuned
into FEBA radio and listened to God's
Word regularly. Feba Radio programmes,
filled a void no one else could fill with hope

broadcaster that I regularly listened to on
the radio visited me in my hometown. I was

A VOICE WITH A DIFFERENCE
UDAAN BECKONS US
A Seekers' Conference was organised at Dehradun,
Uttarakhand. 23 of our Udaan (Hindi Programme) listeners
responded to our invitation. Most of them travelled from
Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and
Rajasthan to attend the Conference. Many of our listeners
were willing to come but could not do so because of various
difficulties.
The message of hope and saving grace was shared with
them. Fifteen listeners opened their heart to accept the Lord
Jesus as their Saviour. They are now being prepared for
baptism.
I am Francis David, a retired bus driver from Govt. Bus Transport
Services from Elthagiri, a village near Krishnagiri, Tamilnadu. I have
been listening to FEBA programmes since 1967. Edhir Neechal, a
programme about natural disasters is a good one. But many in my village
were unable to benefit from these programmes as they did not own good
radios. I felt sorry for my people who missed out some important lessons
on matters of spiritual life and life after death. So I record all that is
broadcast in Tamil. With the permission of the pastor of the CSI Good Shepherd Church in my village, I
connect my recorder to an amplifier and play these programmes on a loud speaker so that many people
are blessed by the FEBA programmes. I am happy to do this ministry in a small way though I cannot
preach the gospel. I continue to grow spiritually because of FEBA radio. Thank you FEBA India.

(In response to Hindi programme Hamari Bediyan)
A training in Radio Programme Production was held on 28th-29th March 2016, in Jaipur. The nine participants who attended the workshop were trained to produce relevant programmes for the audience and were given tips on creative script writing. They were also given hands on experience on using our portable recording devices to produce programmes that reach out to different categories of people.
By the end of the training the teams were able to produce a sample radio programme.

SPEAKER BOX ENTERS YERUKALA
We praise God for a successful trip to visit the Yerukalas.
The Telugu team visited a place called Mahanandhi in
Kurnool Dist, to distribute Speaker Boxes among the
Yerukalas. We visited seven places and distributed fifty
speaker boxes; they were very thrilled to listen to the Bible
in their mother tongue Yerukula .
We are very thankful to Pastor Sunkanna and Bro.

WHEN THE LISTENERS MET THE VOICES OF ‘PROTYASHA’
FACTORY WORKERS OF KOHARE
The first Listener Meeting of our Bengali radio programme Protyasha was organised on 13th March 2016 at the Collinga Baptist Church, Kolkota. Listeners from Kolkota, Howrah and Hoogly were invited. There were about 40 participants, mainly retired school teachers, housewives, writers, farmers, government officials and employees from private companies.
The meeting began with an introduction, an ice breaker and a few games. Our listeners were excited to personally meet the voices they always heard on the radio. Later they were
encouraged to share their exper iences abou t FEBA programmes. We were delighted to hear that our programmes dealing with child marriage, gender discrimination, child labour, cheating, and trafficking of women and girls were eye openers for the community. The listeners were encouraged to form Listener Clubs among themselves.
A Listener Meeting was held on 13th February 2016 at Kohare village 26 kms from Ludhiana
city. It is a suburban area where factory workers reside with their families and they regularly
listen to our radio programmes as a group or as families. Most of the people are migrant
factory workers from other states like UP, Bihar, MP, Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Orissa.
Nearly thirty people participated in this Meet. The listeners were happy to meet the team
behind the voices they always
heard on the radio or the telephone.

during their working hours.

learned to respect women in their

FOR THEIRS IS THE KINGDOM OF GOD.On 26th January 2016, FEBA organized a one-day Children's Retreat at Kalavai, a village
near Vellore, Tamilnadu. Earlier we had distributed Speaker Boxes to them in 25 tuition
centres in and around Kalavai. 350 children from 16 tuition centers participated in this
retreat. We had a session on sin and salvation by our area coordinators, Mr. Samuel Prabhu
and Mr. Geevamony who took a session on victorious Christian living. We conducted a quiz
to test their knowledge on the content of the Speaker Boxes, a competition in singing and a
Bible quiz for different age groups.
The highlight of this meeting was that many children from different faiths were blessed. We
are grateful to Pastor Sam and his family and Showers of Blessing Church for all their help
and support extended to FEBA. Continue to pray for the Speaker Box Project in Kalavai.
CONNECTING WITH LISTENERSOn 27th February 2016 we arranged a one-day Listeners’ Meeting at Vestry Anglo Indian School, Trichy. Nine out of the thirty people who attended were non-Christians. SWIMMING AGAINST THE TIDE'Ethir Neechal' is a Tamil programme to bring awareness of natural disasters and to equip the flood affected people in Cuddalore to face such crises in future; our team conducted chats, discussions and interviews through people's forums in Cuddalore to bring awareness in ecology and environment and to promote values, and to sensitize them to the
environment around them. Counseling, reading news, conducting interviews/ t a l k s i n c l u d i n g a presentation by the local postal department were all a part of the programme to create social awareness. The locals were involved in producing folk music and traditional songs. We had special programmes for students who could not attend schools because of f loods and on exam preparation for students of standard 10.
Suresh Babu met with our team while conducting interviews. This is what he had to say... “I
have incurred a huge loss of property because of floods. I could not run my business I lost all
my personal belongings. I heard about your programmes and began tuning into them. The
music, content and the message in each of your programmes has brought me much comfort
and meaning to life”

venture. Support, partner and pray that people will be touched and renewed by the
transforming power of the Gospel.
