Dear Expectant Mama,

We have thought so much about what we would say to you. You have more strength than you know, and we have so much admiration and love for you. We want you to know we value honesty above all. We want to find the right fit for our family, and we want to be the right fit for an expectant mom or birth family.

We promise to love your child more than anything else in the world. We will encourage them, comfort them, and help them to dream big! We promise to put your child first and to always make sure they have the opportunity to learn, explore, and create. We promise to provide them with a safe, stable, loving, fun home to call their own. They will grow up knowing their story and promise to include you in as many aspects of your child’s life as you wish.

Our Story

We are Bill and Laurie. We met at work in 2013 and quickly fell in love. Bill proposed two years later after we had gotten to know each other well. We were married in September 2016. From the begin-ning, we knew we wanted children and were thrilled to start a family as soon as possible. We have tried for 6 years unsuccessfully. We truly believe that adoption is the perfect next step to our journey of becoming a mommy and daddy.

Where We Live

We love the beach! Laurie grew up in California and spent as much free time outside and in the water as she could. Last year, one of our dreams was realized when we moved near the water in Virginia. You can often find us among local families watching the sunset on the ocean or wading in the waves and building sandcastles. We live in a super fun community. We are walking distance to libraries, botanical gardens, museums, and the water, we love to explore all that our local area has to offer and to live somewhere where friends and family love to visit us. About Laurie

Laurie grew up in Southern California as the youngest of two girls. Laurie loved being outdoors and spent a lot of her youth riding bikes, skateboarding, and spending lots of time at the beach. She was in Girl Scouts, junior lifeguards, and on a swim team. Laurie learned many lessons as a child, most importantly it is important to wear a helmet and pads while riding on anything with wheels. Because of her sense of adventure, Laurie has lived in several parts of the country. She also loves to travel and explore new places and always embraces the similarities and differences that the world has to offer. Her outgoing personality has always allowed her to quickly fit in and adapt to the people and her sur-roundings.

Laurie is a talented trained Chef and loves to try out recipes with Bill as her main test subject. She works for a catering company as an event coordinator. This will allow her to work from home and spend more time with a little one. Family is very important to Laurie and she spends as much time with them as she can. She has five nieces and one nephew that she loves to spoil. Laurie has great role models. Her parents have been happily married for 52 years!

A Note from Bill

Laurie has a great sense of humor, loves with all her heart and is compassionate. She enjoys meeting new people and has never met a stranger because within a few moments of meeting someone she has learned their life story. Laurie cannot wait to be a mom and to promote her child’s sense of adventure while instilling in them the values she holds most dear including kindness, humility, courage, and compassion. She will make an amazing mom!

About Bill

Bill was born and raised in Pennsylvania where he loved playing sports, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. With three older sisters and one younger, Bill was taught many super-valu-able life lessons early, such as always putting the toilet seat down. After college Bill moved with a friend to Virginia “just to try out a new area”, but quickly fell in love with the state and has been there ever since.

In his free time Bill loves to run, play, and watch sports, read, and eat Laurie’s delicious food! Fami-ly is very important to Bill and he cherishes the time he gets to spend with them, especially his three young nieces that live just outside Chicago. Friends also mean a great deal to Bill and he takes pride in maintaining close, long-lasting friendships, many which dates back 20+ years! Bill is laid back, friendly, loyal, compassionate, responsible, patient and kind. Bill is an optimist and sees humor as a great way to get through whatever life throws at him. Bill looks forward to being a dad and sharing a wide variety of experiences with his children in order to foster their curiosity and encourage them to seek out the things in life that make them truly happy, whatever that may be .Bill has a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a Master’s degree in Business. He loves anything to do with History. Bill cur-rently manages the Health & Wellness department at a specialty grocery store.

A Note from Laurie about Bill

Bill is such a loving patient man. He is selfless, funny, compassionate and a great listener. He has been my rock in this journey and marrying my best friend is the best decision I have ever made. I knew when I met him that he would be an incredible father. Every child and adult that meets him instantly falls in love with him. I watch him with our nieces, and he is like a big kid himself while chasing them around for hours or playing with them in the ocean waves. He is going to be an awesome Dad!

Our Dreams

We have many dreams for our future together. The one that we hold closest to our hearts is for the rooms of our home to be filled with giggles, cuddles and hope for the future with children who call us mommy and daddy. We know that this dream is possible through the gift of adoption and we eagerly await the privilege of parenting!
