Deadheads is a 2011 film classed as a Zombedy(Zombie Comedy).

Mike one of the main characters played by Michael McKiddy, wakes up to find that he has been transformed into a zombie yet he is still able to talk normally and think like an alive person. He then finds another Zombie, Brent, that joins him on a road trip to find his true love Ellie.

In this first image it shows a two shot of a ‘zombie’ and Mike which clearly shows that Mike is scared but also the zombie is scared which isn’t conventional of what would usually happen. In the second image its shows a close up of one of the zombies eating a heart, this shows that zombies like to feed on blood and flesh and is slightly typical actions of what a zombie may do in the perception of them.

Towards the end of the trailer fast paced editing is used and cutting. The fast paced editing is used to cut to and from many different scenes from the film giving it a an edge to make sure you see as many scenes to make the viewer want to watch the film and not just the trailer. It cuts straight from this scene (top) to the bottom scene within 2 seconds. In the first scene you can see that there is a zombie child and then in the next scene a person is on fire. Which is very different.

In the first image to the right, you can see how make up is used within the movie as he has blood coming from his mouth. This is conventional of what zombies tend to look like in zombie films as you can see in my research part 1 because there is a zombie with blood coming from his mouth. Also there is low key lighting used as it is night time which makes the zombie look worse and scarier.

In the second image you can see the effect of make up because they have very pale white faces with dry blood which shows significant signs of attack on them from zombies or they have been transformed into a zombie. You can also see that they are wearing typical normal everyday clothes.

There are typical sounds used that shows that they are zombies as there are screams used and lots of noises that are very slow. Also the dialogue that is used brings the comedy sense to the trailer as they make a joke about zombies being ‘everywhere’ when they are on the phone. By making it sound like a joke it shows the comedy element to the comedy horror genre.

In this first image you can see the typical convention of how zombies are usually tried to be killed with sticks and with things stabbed through them. Which shows the conventions of a zombie film.

As you can see in this image it shows a person eating a hand which is usually conventional of what zombies do as they eat flesh. This is what you would expect to see in a trailer for films with a horror comedy element as it gives a sense of both genre’s together.
