  • In the 1950s, a planning method was conceived called Material Requirements Planning (MRP). MRP changed the world of Supply Chain Management forever. But times have changed as customer tolerance times in both Private and Public sectors are much shorter, product variety and complexity has increased, and supply chains have spread around the world.

MRP is dramatically failing in this New Normal. Traditional Material Requirements Planning and control systems in which detailed forecasts are used to procure needed materials that are then pushed through Supply Chains to the point of consumption have become ineective. This system is typically called “Push and Promote” and is causing enormous amounts of friction and compromises in today’s more complex and volatile supply chains. Most Supply Chain professionals feel like they are caught between a rock and a hard spot! Shortages of critical items must be eliminated while at the same time inventory levels must be dramatically reduced and expedite related expenses minimized. This conict is more acute than ever in today’s economic climate. Unfortunately MRP and most of today’s available tool sets are insucient to eectively resolve this conict in the face of increasing demand and supply volatility and variability.

Discover a new and innovative Demand Driven approach that combines the relevant and meaningful attributes of tools like MRP, Lean, Theory of Constrains and Six Sigma to create an innovative Supply Chain planning and execution technique that addresses the shortcomings of traditional approaches. Demand Driven Material Requirements Planning (DDMRP) is a practical, proven, and eective method for supply chain planning and execution that eectively brings the 1950s concept into the modern era. The foundation of DDMRP is the connection between the creation, protection, and acceleration of the ow of relevant materials and information to drive superior Supply Chain performance. Using an innovative multi-echelon “Position, Protect, and Pull” methodology, DDMRP helps plan and manage inventories and materials in todays more complex supply scenarios. It promotes better and quicker decisions and actions at the planning and execution levels. DDMRP is already in use by MAJOR Global organizations with amazing results.

Here below please nd details of a training program designed to equip your sta that are involved either directly or indirectly in Supply Chain, Materials or Inventory planning with latest skills to enable them contribute eectively towards your organizations improved performance. The course content features the authoritative work on the DDMRP methodology providing a clear, concise, and compelling explanation of the concept and it’s application, including immersive and extensive examples that bring DDMRP to life across multiple industries and organizations. The contents of the course are the required courseware for the Certied Demand Driven Planner (CDDP) Program.
