Baking for a Cause
Calendar of Events:
Nov 15th– PTA Vendor Fair
Nov 17th– PTA Meeting 3:30p-4:00p
Nov 24th-28th– Thanksgiving Break
The Damar Charter Academy Girl Scouts have been hard at work. They have held three bake sales in the last couple of months which has al-lowed them to earn approximately $300 to use to earn their badges. During the most recent bake sale, tons of supporters made purchases, which caused the girls to sell out within the first hour! The local news, WTHR, also stopped by to catch them in action (http://www.wthr.com/
story/27272206/2014/11/04/damar-students-break-ground-
with-special-girl-scout-troop). The plan is to use the majority of the money to go to the zoo in the late spring so the girls can earn their animal habitat badge. They will also be baking the week of November 9th so they can sell delicious baked goods at the PTA's Goodies Galore Holiday Bazaar on November 15th.

Jameson Camp
“Jameson Camp taught us how to interact with each other and work as a team. It was really fun!”

Jameson Camp is a non-profit organization that provides outdoor education and team building activities. Miss. Betsy’s class had the opportunity to participate in a team-building day where they completed challenge courses that required students to work together as a team. They also did a trust walk activity and discussed the importance of work-ing together and trusting each other in the real world. Jameson Camp is a fun outing that our students enjoy eve-ry year.
On October 31, many of the children and staff members of DCA celebrated Halloween by dressing up in costumes and getting their faces painted. Sev-eral classrooms had parties with lots of goodies! Mario & Luigi, King of In-sects, Bat Woman, Iron Man, Candy Corn Witch, a Zombie, Car Wash Cus-todian, Business Man, Super Woman, Spider-Man, etc were spotted during the day! Everyone enjoyed them-selves! Special thanks to Ashley L. for painting faces, you did a wonderful job!
