DCA ANNUAL CONVENTION
BOCA RATON RESORT & CLUB, BOCA RATON, FLORIDA
FEBRUARY 24 – 29, 2020
2
The 2020 DCA Annual Convention will be held at the Boca Raton Resort & Club, a Waldorf Astoria Resort in Boca Raton, Florida – often known simply as Boca.
Boca Raton was the brain child of Addison Mizner, a resort architect who heavily influenced the city’s early development in the 1920’s. In 1925, Mizner announced his plan for “the foremost resort city on the North American continent, a new exclusive social capital in America.”
Today, the massive luxury property is part of the Waldorf Astoria empire. When the hotel opened in 1926, it was called the Cloister Inn, which was inspired by a Spanish convent built in the 11th century. At that time, Boca Raton was little more than an isolated farm town, a dot on the map between then-booming Palm Beach and Miami. The resort is now one of the country’s premier resort destinations. Set within a backdrop of casual elegance, Boca’s amenities include two eighteen-hole championship golf courses, tennis courts, several pools, state-of-the-art fitness centers, a half-mile stretch of private beach, and world class Spa. In addition, the Resort and Club features an outstanding selection of dining options.
The hotel has welcomed guests from all over the world including royalty, heads of state and celebrities. The resort stands waiting to greet you in February 2020 for the DCA Annual Convention.

Rudolph Giuliani has had a decades long career as Mayor of New York City, US Attorney for the Southern District, and advisor and lawyer for President Trump.
On September 11, 2001, America suffered the worst attack in its history when terrorists crashed planes into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. Thousands of New Yorkers were killed, including hundreds of members of the city’s uniformed services, who rushed to the scene to lead the heroic rescue of tens of thousands of people. When the Towers fell, Giuliani immediately began leading the recovery of the city as it faced its darkest hour.
Giuliani gained the moniker “America’s Mayor” and was widely lauded for his steady hand during challenging times. He was named “Person of the Year” by TIME magazine, knighted by the Queen of England, dubbed “Rudy the Rock” by French President Jacques Chirac, and former first lady Nancy Reagan presented him with the Ronald Reagan Presidential Freedom Award.
Giuliani founded Giuliani Partners, quickly establishing the professional services firm as a leader in emergency preparedness, public safety, leadership during crises, and financial management.
Mr. Giuliani will speak on “How Geopolitical Events Will Affect Your Company’s Future – And What Every Company Must Know”.

One of the breakout stars from Season 14 of America’s Got Talent is the four-person acapella group, Voices of Service. The group is composed of veteran and active military service members: Master Sergeant Caleb Green, retired Starr Sergeant Ron Henry, Sargent Major Christal Sanders Rheams, and Sergeant First Class Jason L. Hannah.
Each have served several tours of duty in combat zones. Upon returning, they found their voices could reach many returning soldiers who felt they had lost theirs. “We’re using this platform to show what music can do, as music therapy for service men and women who are coping with post-traumatic stress, and we just love what we do,” Henry said.
During the Judges’ Cuts show, Voices of Service performed a goosebumps-inspiring version of “See You Again”. “This is dedicated to our brothers and sisters who have been silenced and could not find peace on this side,” Sgt. Maj. Christal Rheams said before they performed.
Voices of Service made it to the finals and finished the competition in 5th place. They are sure to entertain and inspire us at the breakfast Thursday morning.
Group BreakfastThursday, February 278:00 am – 10:00 am

This will be a star spangle night celebrating the USO through the decades. The USO was founded in 1941 to provide morale and recreation services to U.S. uniformed military personnel. Originally it was just a hut for coffee, donuts and camaraderie. DCA always serves up a huge helping of camaraderie and on this evening, it is guaranteed to serve more than coffee and donuts.
Live entertainment soon became the mainstay of every USO show with hundreds of celebrities answering the call including Bob Hope, Marilyn Monroe, Gary Sinise, Cher, and Trace Adkins to name just a few. Music and dancing will go on long into the night (or wee hours of the morning).
This evening DCA will also take the opportunity to solute DCA Past Presidents and Honorary members.

When it was completed in 1902, the New York Herald proclaimed that Whitehall, Henry Flagler’s estate in Palm Beach, was “more wonderful than any palace in Europe, grander and more magnificent than any other private dwelling in the world.” Flagler built the 75-room, 100,000-square-foot Gilded Age mansion, Whitehall, as a wedding present for his wife. The couple used the home as a winter retreat from 1902 until Flagler’s death in 1913, establishing the Palm Beach season for the wealthy of the Gilded Age.
The Flagler Museum features docent guided tours, changing exhibitions, and special programs and is proud to be named “Best Museum” in Palm Beach County 2019 by the Palm Beach Post.
