Invoice PaymentsThis is a friendly reminder that childcare payments are due on the 1st and 15th of each month. We will be implementing a late payment fee if you do not pay on time. If you need extra time in paying, please speak with Ronda or Tammy and they can help come up with a plan to help.

Daycare closing earlyWe will be having our monthly staff meeting on Friday October 19, 2012. The centre will close at 4pm that day. Our staff will also be attending the Early Childhood Conference in Grande Prairie that night and weekend. This conference will cover a number of topics and will allow us to come away with new ideas to help provide better care in the centre.

With the weather changing, please remember to bring some out door clothing to the daycare. Yes no body likes to hear it, but winter is

just around the corner. Please bring any clothing to enjoy the outdoors. This will allow us to go outside when the weather is appropriate.

Halloween CelebrationWe will have our Halloween Celebration on Wednesday, the 31st. We will have various activities planned throughout the day. The children may dress up in their costumes if they wishs, however, please do not let your child bring in costume accessories (wands, swords, guns, etc.).  If you don't celebrate halloween please find alternative care for that day .

Our October ThemeThis month we are learning about the parts of a tree. How fruit grows on trees. What’s living in the trees.  The shape will be learning about is Rectangle and the numbers 5 & 6, colours green and brown and the letters are A,O & R. Plus some Halloween crafts

Our Daycare has Started to do Scholastic book orders. We have included the October Scholastic Book Club catalogs along with the newsletter.

Healthy Food TipThe diet of a toddler or preschool child should contain the following three aspects:1. Variety - The diet should comprise different textures, tastes, smells and colours to broaden a child's nutritional intake and eating experience.2. Balance - A healthy balance of complex carbohydrates, lean proteins and essential fats.3. Moderation - Indulging in sweets, ice cream and other white sugar and refined flour foods only on occasion. Fast food options such as fried foods and those high in saturated fat and trans fatty acids should be kept to a minimum.
