The Government of India conferred the status of a Deemed University to DEI on 16th May, 1981

1917 Founding of ‘REI’ , Radhasoami Educational Institute, comprising a Middle School (became Degree College in 1947)

1927 Established Technical School (now a College)

1930 Established Prem Vidyalaya – Girls School (now an Intermediate College)

1947 Established Women’s Training College.

1950 Established Engineering College

1973 Registered Dayalbagh Educational Institute

1981 ‘Deemed University’ status conferred by Ministry of Education & Culture under the UGC Act 3 of 1956

2004 Established Women’s Polytechnic and Start of Distance Education Programme

2008 Established DEI-ICT Distance Education Centre at MTV Puram, Tamil Nadu & Soami Nagar, New Delhi

2009 Established DEI-ICT Distance Education Centre at Rajaborari-Timarni, District Harda, MP

2011 Established DEI-ICT Distance Education Centre at Bangalore

About DEI DEP(Distance Education

Programme)

Objectives To extend the benefits of DEI’s

innovative, value based and comprehensive educational system to all sections of society

To provide need-based education and vocational training at low cost

To train weaker sections of society in vocational skills to make them employable

To facilitate empowerment of women via development of working skills

To cater to students who have discontinued education or are unable to afford the cost involved in education away from their homes

Mode of Distance Education Blended education with a mix of traditional instruction and

e-education Unique system with tutorial classes held at Study Centres 3

hours a day, six days a week over 15 working weeks in a semester

Videos, live and web-based lessons• In Semi-synchronous mode, recorded video lectures played for

class• In Synchronous or Live mode, lectures broadcast live, in video

conferencing mode from D.E.I. through EDUSAT, internet-based video streaming and lease lines

Job Fair Overview• DEI DEP Job Fair is an initiative by Alumni Association of DEI

(AADEIs) to help the Distance Education students with their Placements

• In a Job Fair 35 – 40 companies and over 800 students are brought under one roof over 2 Days and is a Win – Win as:– Companies get to see a wide variety of Students and decide to pick the ones

which fit their Organization the best– Students get to interview with a wide range of companies and have their pick on

the profiles which best suit their needs

• Job Fair as a concept was kicked off in 2011 and has been happening for the last 3 years with exceptional results– Placements over the last 3 years have been 90%+– Reviews by Companies have been – Excellent and is reflected by their readiness

to be part of this initiative Year on Year

This is a “Voluntary Initiative” by the Alumni of DEI and there are “No Commercials” involved
