A Spiritual and Technical Approach to Preparing the Psalms As a proclaimer of the Word, the psalmist is called to lead the Psalm with clarity and conviction. Participants will explore ways to grow in their spirituality by enhancing their knowledge of scripture and their understanding of the relationship of the Psalm to the other readings in the liturgy. Suggestions will also be provided for praying and living the Psalms as part of one's technical preparation for singing.

The Role of Ministers of Hospitality /A workshop for ministers of hospitality, ushers, and greeters. Hospitality is at the foundation of all that we do as a community. This workshop focuses on suggestions on how to be a more hospitable parish and how to deal with special circumstances before the assembly gathers, as the assembly gathers, during the Eucharistic celebration, and after the liturgical celebration. If you are thinking about being a minister of hospitality, come and see if God may be calling you to this Ministry.

The liturgical year allows us to enter into the mystery of encountering the Risen Christ as it unfolds through the seasons in the Lec-tionary and the Roman Missal. Come and learn how best to select music to accompany your community’s sung prayer through the seasons and learn new repertoire.

El año litúrgico nos permite entrar en el misterio del encuentro con el Cristo Resucitado mientras éste se desarrolla a través de los diversos tiempos en el Leccionario y el Misal Romano. The liturgy is never celebrated for its own sake. Ultimately, we are transformed and sent to bring the good news to the world through our lives of service and our words of love. Jesus calls us to lifelong and ongoing discipleship. This involves ongoing for-mation in order to be more fully Christ-like and to be a more effective ministerial disciple. What does it mean to be a disciple of Jesus Christ and how are we called to minister in the liturgy and to the world?

La liturgia no se celebra simplemente porque sí. Somos transformados y enviados a llevar la Buena Nueva de Dios al mundo a tra-vés de nuestras vidas de servicio y nuestras palabras de amor. Jesús nos llama a vivir un continuo discipulado durante toda la vida. Esto involucra la formación constante para ser más como Cristo y ser un discípulo misionero más efectivo ¿Qué significa ser un discípulo de Jesucristo y cómo estamos llamados a ser ministros en la liturgia y para el mundo?

This workshop will offer some of the basic but essential concepts of good vocal production for the choir member including: posture, breathing and tone. In addition, we will explore Basic Choral Diction including: articulation, vowel formation, consonants and the importance of word stress.

Este taller ofrecerá algunos de los conceptos básicos, pero esenciales, de la buena producción vocal para el miembro del coro, inclu-yendo: Postura, Respiración, Tono. This workshop will focus on how to evaluate and negotiate Praise and Worship, and Charismatic musical desires in music selection and liturgy preparation.

Cómo evaluar y analizar la música de Alabanza y Adoración, ampliando así las posibilidades de recursos musicales existentes ma-nejando pastoral y litúrgicamente el deseo de utilizar música que sirve a los diferentes movimientos eclesiales (Carismáticos, Cursi-llistas, etc.) en la selección musical y la preparación de la celebración litúrgica.

On a practical level the presenter speaks about the transformative nature of the liturgy reminding us how our day-to-day service as ministers of hospitality has the power to transform our communities, ourselves, and our world.

(Bilingual~bilingüe) The Celebration of the Eucharistic: the “source and summit” of everything we do as Christians (LG 11). Music in the Sacred Liturgy - As the Christian (Catholic) community lives the faith, it has developed the Catholic liturgy that is handed down from generation to generation to become our own. The liturgy is a ritual expression of the Word and our faith in God expressed in our culture but guided by guidelines and instructions. Good liturgy requires more than simply following the instructions. This presentation will look especially to what the Church says about music in the liturgy.
