Day 3:

A- Analyze LearnersI will be teaching 5’s multiplication to a third grade class. There are ten boys and seven girls. 80% white and 20% African American.

S- State ObjectiveMy third grade students will be able to say their 5s by the end of the day. They will be given a chance to go on SecondLife and make a person. They will be able to do this with 100% accuracy.

S- Select Methods, Media, and MaterialBased on the different skill levels of the students, they will make a second life where on there they will be making a person and going over multiplication. They will also be given a poster where they can color different objects or animals. They will be given time to play the different math games that will involve 5s. After making the poster, they will be put into groups where they will quiz one another on what they learned.

U- Utilize Media and MaterialThe students will receive a game board. On the game board, they will be quizzing one another on there 5s. If they get the question right, they get to move ahead on the board and whoever gets to the end first, they will get to get something out of the treasure box. They will get to play with their SecondLife and discover what all they can do with it. They will be finding different ways to multiply their 5s. There will also be puzzle pieces they have to connect the problem with the answer.

R- Require Learners ParticipationThe students will be working in the two stations during class. We will also go over what we learned from the SecondLife. They will post a blog on how they liked working with SecondLife. They will also be interacting with their classmates during the game while I am walking around the class seeing how they are doing.

E- Evaluate and Revise

They will be graded on how well they are participating in the different activities. They will be graded on how well they played the games on the computer and how creative their poster is. I will read their blogs and keep in consideration what they had to say. We will also go over the multiplication tables and go to the smartboard and write the answer to the equation
