7th Grade Writing
S.M.A.R.T. GoalPercentage of 7th grade students who achieve a score of 4 (out of a 6 point scale) or higher on the HRW Online Expository Essay assessment will increase from __% to __% by June 2011.
8th Grade Writing
S.M.A.R.T. GoalPercentage of 8th grade students who achieve a score of 4 (out of a 6 point scale) or higher on Compare/Contrast Essay assessment will increase from __% to __% by June 2011.
9th Grade Writing
S.M.A.R.T. GoalPercentage of 9th grade students who achieve a score of 4 (out of a 6 point scale) or higher on the ACT Persuasive Essay assessment will increase from 30% to 60% by June 2010.

All science teachers will use the 6+1 writing rubric to assess the students’ written lab report conclusions.

All science teachers will review and demonstrate multiple choice test taking strategies to interpret tables, charts, and graphs.
