Tutoring & AcademicResources Students are required to complete amonthly tutoring assignment gearedtowards standardized test preparation,career exploration, and/or postsecondaryeducation all while creating a plan for theiracademic career after high school.Monthly assignments are guided by aprogressive educational timeline with thegoal of obtaining entry and succeeding incollege. Students are providedstandardized test prep study materials andwaivers, college application waivers,graphing calculators, and much more.

100% Funded by two Title IV grants from the USDepartment of Education totaling $768,419(Pendleton/Pocahontas $297,601, and Randolph/Barbour/Tucker $470,818), project services are free toeligible students. Classic ProgramRising Junior & Senior Participants

The Classic Program is traditionally a six-week residential program held on thecampus of Davis & Elkins College.Throughout the weeks, students engagein academic course work, social andcultural activities, and out of classroomexperiences. Students return home for theweekend. The Classic Program concludeswith a recognition luncheon and acultural/ educational experience event.The event is a multiple day excursion fullof learning and fun!

Bridge ProgramSelect Graduates

The Bridge Program is a four week on-campus experience that gives studentsthe chance to jumpstart their collegeeducation and easily transition into collegelife. Selected graduates can complete upto six credit hours of college courses withtuition and textbook costs covered byUpward Bound. Students are providedtutoring and study sessions. Weeklyworkshops and seminars help studentsdevelop tools and strategies forovercoming obstacles that they may facein their college education.

Summer Programs

Challenge SessionsOne Saturday a month, from September toMay, students meet on the Davis & ElkinsCollege campus to participate in activitiesgeared towards academic/career planningand college preparation.. Activities includecollege tours, information regardingcollege selection, financial aid, social andcultural exposure.

Academic AdvisingStudents are given the opportunity andaccess to meet weekly with AcademicAdvisors. These individuals serve to assessand provide academic support. AcademicAdvisors track student progress andaddress needs through personal contactwithin the high school setting.
