This Week at Davidson (November 7th through November 11th)…
Election Day at KDE
The Presidential Election of 2016 was an opportunity to foster
civic responsibility in Katy ISD students by teaching the social
studies strands of government and citizenship in a meaningful
way. All 3rd-5th grade students throughout Katy ISD rocked their
vote this election season with Project V.O.T.E. Throughout this
unit of study, KDE students have learned how to register to
vote. Many classes participated in the process of early voting, and
some classes voted on Election Day! The results of the district
election were sent to the statewide mock election Project V.O.T.E.
(Voters of Tomorrow Through Education) which is sponsored by
the Texas Secretary of State. Kinder- 2nd grade students also had
the opportunity to participate in various grade level elections of
book characters.
