DAVIDSON POST Dear Parents/Carers, As we draw an end to the academic year we reflect on the past 6 months, which at mes have been evenul and challenging but overall it has been an incredibly posive 6 months. As a school leader, it is a real honour and priviledge to be the Prinicipal of Davidson Academy and work with some incredibly talented members of staff. A great deal has been achieved both inside and outside of the classroom. We have been visited by the Regional School Commissioner and received very posive feedback from a lead Ofsted inspector during our Challenge Partners review earlier in the term. I am very happy to share that Davidson has done exceponally well in all areas. We have received the best KS1 and KS2 SATs results for a long me, which were above naonal standards. We have introduced a new house system, reviewed the behavior policy, introduced a more intense monitoring programme for teaching and learning and reviewed the curriculum coverage. Other successes include: improved phonics results across the school, improved progress of disadvantaged pupils, more robust assessment and reporng systems, the introducon of a new science scheme, the personal development, behaviour and wellbeing of pupils and others. The launch of the new PTA, a fabulous sports days and not forgeng the wonderful end of year producons that the children in Year 2 and 6 took part in. There are a range of new excing iniaves in store for the next year. We will also be introducing more extra-curricular clubs as well as developing a partnership with Croydon music provision for peripec music lessons. As this academic year comes to a close, I would like to thank you all for you connued support and we look forward to an excing and producve year ahead. And finally good luck and best wishes to all of our wonderful Year 6 children as they move onto their next adventure. On behalf of the academy we would like to congratulate all of them for their wonderful achievements this year and their connued hard work during their years at Davidson Primary Academy. I wish you all a happy, safe and resul holiday. We look forward to seeing the children on Wednesday 6th September. DAVIDSON POST

Dear Parents/Carers, As we draw an end to the academic year we reflect on the past 6 months, which at times have been eventful and challenging but overall it has been an incredibly positive 6 months. As a school leader, it is a real honour and priviledge to be the Prinicipal of Davidson Academy and work with some incredibly talented members of staff. A great deal has been achieved both inside and outside of the classroom. We have been visited by the Regional School Commissioner and received very positive feedback from a lead Ofsted inspector during our Challenge Partners review earlier in the term. I am very happy to share that Davidson has done exceptionally well in all areas. We have received the best KS1 and KS2 SATs results for a long time, which were above national standards. We have introduced a new house system, reviewed the behavior policy, introduced a more intense monitoring programme for teaching and learning and reviewed the curriculum coverage. Other successes include: improved phonics results across the school, improved progress of disadvantaged pupils, more robust assessment and reporting systems, the introduction of a new science scheme, the personal development, behaviour and wellbeing of pupils and others. The launch of the new PTA, a fabulous sports days and not forgetting the wonderful end of year productions that the children in Year 2 and 6 took part in. There are a range of new exciting initiatives in store for the next year. We will also be introducing more extra-curricular clubs as well as developing a partnership with Croydon music provision for peripetic music lessons. As this academic year comes to a close, I would like to thank you all for you continued support and we look forward to an exciting and productive year ahead.

And finally good luck and best wishes to all of our wonderful Year 6 children as they move onto their next adventure. On behalf of the academy we would like to congratulate all of them for their wonderful achievements this year and their continued hard work during their years at Davidson Primary Academy. I wish you all a happy, safe and restful holiday. We look forward to seeing the children on Wednesday 6th September.

HEAD BOY AND HEAD GIRL

We would like to say a big thank you to

Arthur and Ella who have been our Head

Girl and Head Boy this year. They have

represented the school marvellously on

several occasions and have made the

school very proud.

Here is one final message from them

before they embark on their next

chapter at secondary school:

This year has been the best by far,

with all the school activities like PGL and Business Enterprise. I would like to wish everyone the best of luck in their new schools

and classes. Also, congratulations to the new Pupil Leadership Team.

My time at Davidson has been one of both happy and sad moments

but overall it has been a successful journey. I feel that year 6 are ready to move on to their new

secondary schools because of how prepared we are thanks to our

wonderful teachers. I just want to wish everyone the best and thank you for making

this an amazing experience which I will never forget.

Thank you, and a big well done to all of our current Pupil Leadership Team. The deputies and

prefects have done a wonderful job supporting the Head Boy and Girl.

Can we please remind all parents that children should be wearing

appropriate uniform to school.

- Long hair should be tied back.

- No make-up, nail varnish, transfers or jewellery (other than small studs). - Trainers are not part of the school uniform and we would appreciate your cooperation with this. The option for deliveries into school will resume on 11th of September. (We only deliver on the 2nd and 4th Monday every month). Parents will be required to select our delivery to home option at a cost of £2.50, which will include a fully tracked service as part of this charge.
