100G BAIL IS SET IN SHOOTING CASE INCIDENT OCCURRED ON CHRIS1MAS DAY

Bail was set at $100,000 yesterday for a Clifton man charged with attempted murder for the Christmas Day shooting of a 30-year-old man. In Stapleton Criminal Court yesterday Judge Michael J. Brennan ordered Michael Dawson, 23, of Vanderbilt Avenue, held in lieu of the high bail pending a court appearance Jan. 3.

Dawson allegedly shot Niyyi Fayemi in the head and shoulder around 10 p.m. on Christmas night at the corner of Vanderbilt Avenue and Turgee Street, court records show.

The defendant is additionally charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

Scoftlaws arraigned

'IWo scoftlaws arraigned yesterday were released on their own recognizance pending additional court dates.

Eugene Aquino, 28, of Amber Street Oakwood, was stopped Tuesoay around 8:30 o.m. m uomran iiiiL after he was allegedly speeding down Jefferson Avenue. A computer check showed ne nad 20 susoens1oc:.. on his license.

At 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, police stopped Thomas McKennan, 30, of Alexander Avenue, Annadale, after he allegedly drove passed a stop sign on Tynan Street in Annadale. He also had 20 suspensions on his license, police records show.

Aquino and McKennan are expected to return to court Jan. 27 and Feb. 2, respectively.
